Up Coming Social Events:

The Harriers will host the annual Swansea Harriers 5km and 1 mile junior races on 10th June, 8th July and 5th August 2008. The Series provides an ideal venue for Harriers past and present to enjoy a social occasion and catch up on old times. Participants enjoy a free drink and meal as part of their race entry while non participants can make a purchase at the Junction Cafe. Younger athletes and their friends normally have a dip in the Blackpill Lido. Further information can be found at www.swanseabay5k.com in the Recommended Links section of this website.

A further social event is the annual Whitford Point multi-terrain race. This was held on the 14th May at the Brittania Inn in Llanmadoc and in superb conditions a record 151 runners participated in the race. The event is part of the Clubs preparations for the annual Welsh Castles Relay race from Caernarfon to Cardiff. The Harriers won the masters event in 2007 and the Relay proved a great social occasion for all concerned.

Last year the juniors had an "end of season" buffet in August - hopefully this can be repeated in 2008.

The Thursday endurance group have a monthly meal after training at a local restaurant (eg CJ's, Castellmare, The Woodman). Anyone interested in attending can contact Kirsten Tucker at barnieroe@supanet.com

Christmas sees some of the seniors sections of the Club meeting in Wind Street.

The Annual Club Dinner and Awards Night was successfully held at The Towers Hotel, Jersey Marine in April with the guest speaker being British Lion Robert Jones. Our thanks go to Nicola Cirillo for organising the event and it is anticipated that we will return to The Towers in March/April 2009.
