Over the weekend of Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th June Our Masters team had their first category win for over 14 years in this years Welsh Castles road relays. The race is run over two days and 200 miles from Caernarfon to Cardiff with 67 teams and 20 runners in each team - it is the equivalent of the Tour de France, without the bikes! Swansea won the masters (35+) title in 23 hours 28 minutes, finishing well ahead of Team Bath by over half an hour - a very impressive winning margin. Furthermore, our winning team comprised of six women runners all of whom were selected entirely on merit, such is the strength in depth we now have in the club. Thia Malan won the first woman finisher prize on stage 6. Barmouth to Dolgellau but everyone put in outstanding performances in very hot weather. What won us the title was the enthusiasm and team spirit of everyone running, organising or supporting the event. Well done everyone and many thanks for an enjoyable week-end.
