Sunday 2nd December was round 3 of 5 in the John Collins Gwent Cross Country League at Tredegar for all age groups. Whilst the athletes were tucked up inside in the warm at Cardiff, our endurance athletes were competing in less favourable conditions at Tredegar in the cold, wind and rain! Nevertheless there was still a great turnout despite the clash of events and weather conditions. With our first 4 finishers to score for our junior teams and 5 for the seniors, summarised below, there were lots of great runs in the tough underfoot conditions:

U11B having a great run to break into the top 10 was 9th Charlie Hill, followed home by 18th Oliver Patterson; 46th Jack Edwards and 59th Ethan Jones. The team are 7th in the league.
U11G having a great run for 3rd was Libby Hale as did 8th Chloe Lewis with 21st Eden Peake and 35th Ava Davies. The team are doing really well in 2nd in the league.

U13B first home was 26th Alfie Smallman; 33rd Dafydd King; 57th Joshua Pritchard and 66th Padraig Pearlman. The team are 6th in the league.
U13G we were just ne short of a full compliment, first home was 18th Kaitlyn Jones; 27th Sophie Hartley-Green and 50th Carys Lewis-Hopkins. The team are 7th in the league.

U15B Back home first was 14th Iwan White followed home by 24th Aled Tumelty; 34th Miles Hill  and 37th Tom Attwood. The team are 8th in the league.
U15G had two runners with 29th Abbie Hall and 41st Rosie Meredith. The team are 8th in the league.

U17M Rhys Nicholas on his own was 47th with the team 13th in the league.

SM having his usual strong run for the club was 5th Phil Matthews; followed home by 20th Conor Smith; 66th Ifan Lloyd; 79th Martin Powell and 106th Charles Walsh. The team are 6th in division 1.
SW our main highlight of the day came from Alaw Beynon-Thomas who had a superb run to win the race; well supported by 5th Helen Marshall; 22nd Abigayle Goodrick-Latham and 83rd Nikki Kelly, unfortunately we were just one runner short of a full team, but are still 4th in the league.

Very well done and our thanks to everyone who took part, click here for the full team and individual results.
