Results Round Up From Liverpool & Elsewhere

Saturday 24th November saw round 3 of the British Cross Challenge series incorporating the trials for the European Cross Country Championships, and what a weekend it was for Swansea Harriers athletes where;

SM Dewi Griffiths just missed out on automatic selection over the 9.8km course for GB&NI placing 5th just 3 seconds away from automatic selection, just 19 seconds behind in 10th was Kristian Jones also having a superb run against the UK's top cross country runners; following them home were 72nd Guy Smith; 87th Marc Hobbs and 151st Liam Lloyd. In the U20M 6.7km finishing very close together again were 43rd Dominic Smith and 45th Elliot Lawrence and less than a minute behind was 88th Conor Smith. The U17M 5.5km had also finishing together were 28th Nathan Jones and 29th Dafyd Jay. One of the main highlights of the day was in the SW where Verity Ockenden had a superb run for 2nd over 8.1km and gain automatic selection for the GB&NI team, well done Verity! However in the combined U17W & U20W 4.4km Cari Hughes went one better to win and will be joining Verity in Tilburg, HOLLAND; a little further down the field Ashleigh Willis came home in 74th. Meanwhile elsewhere...............U23M Rhodri Williams runs (36.99) and U23M Tyler Williams (37.74) both over 300m indoors at Cardiff and SW Sarah Worley runs (39.28) for BRONZE in the Cheltenham 10K.
