Results Round Up From Manchester, USA, Llanmadoc, Canada, Portsmouth, Holland, Snowdonia, Leeds & Germany

Its been a couple of weeks since our last results round up, so there is plenty to catch up on, not just from Wales but all over the UK and world!
Sunday 13th October at the Manchester Half Marathon SW Elinor Kirk runs (76.12) placing on the podium in 3rd, and Sophie Harris sets a lifetime best of (81.08) in 8th. Well done both such fantastic runs and top ten placings!
Sunday 13th October all the way in Chicago USA over the Marathon distance saw four Swansea Harriers run and three come home with lifetime bests;  892nd Raul Reismann (2.51.24); 1471st Ryan Govier (2.57.00); 7827th Christine Webb (3.32.04) and 11,128th Kelly Gipson (3.44.25).
Sunday 20th October saw round 1 of 5 in the West Glamorgan cross country league held at Llanmadoc, Gower, around the scenic Whitford Point, there was another huge turnout from the club completing the challenging multi terrain course.

Our first five men and women home were:
Men: a great 2nd place for Owen Haswell, followed home by 13th Patrick Tudor; 20th Daniel Otteson; 21st Steve Smith and 28th Simon Brewer. Our mens team are split in two teams for the West Glamorgan League - our masters and TNT, with our masters 5th in division 1 and TNT top of division 2.
Women: a fine win for 1st Helen-Marie Davies, followed across the line by 6th Diane Brownhill; 11th Penny Kennedy; 13th Jennie Mcadie and 15th Sian Phillips. The team are placed top of the league table, carrying on where they left off last year, with a 30+ point cushion going into round 2.

Sunday 20th October far away in Toronto Canada saw Joshua Griffiths set his second fastest ever time over the marathon placing a superb 13th in (2.15.20)! Well done Josh!
Sunday 20th October Verity Ockenden set a very quick time of (55.15) for 10 miles, placing an amazing 2nd in the Great South Run at Portsmouth! Well done Verity!
Sunday 20th October Rachel Davies set a lifetime best of (3.00.39) over the marathon distance in Amsterdam, HOLLAND her team mate Llinos Jones in (3.05.41). In the half marathon Luticia Thomas finished in (99.05), well done all!
Saturday 26th October was the Snowdonia Marathon Eryri, without doubt the UK’s toughest marathon and making the route doubly difficult was the weather, nevertheless five Swansea Harriers battled their way to the finish! Congratulations to 107th Simon Brewer (3.22.20); 113th Raul Reismann (3.24.39); 148th Matthew Hendery (3.28.58); 518th Eamonn Kirk (4.05.29) and 532nd Heath Brett (4.03.41). Sunday 27th October over the very fast Leeds 10km saw Wales and West Wales field runners several of whom were from Swansea Harriers. Representing Wales were 4th Kristian Jones (28.48) and 16th Jonathan Hopkins (29.30) both smashing the 30 minute barrier and their lifetime bests. Representing West Wales were 37th Jonathan Tobin (30.22); 73rd Dominic Smith (31.07) and 106th Elliot Lawrence (31.54). Our sole female runner was Sophie Harris (35.08). Sunday 27th October was the Frankfurt Marathon in Germany where three Swansea Harriers made the long trip, but it was worthwhile as all three came home with lifetime bests: 93rd Matthew Rees (2.29.34); 969th Drew Bartle (3.00.44) and 2259th Matthew Preece (3.24.01). Well done boys!
