Results Round Up From Neath, Swansea, Belfast, Manchester, Wigan x 2, (Aberdare), Barry & Loughborough

Saturday 27th July was round 4 of 4 in the U11, U13 & U15 Welsh League at Neath, the individual results are now available. Our thanks to all the athletes who took part, and to all our team managers, officials and coaches on their efforts too. There are no team scores or league tables available as yet, however we will assume that the squad did enough to qualify for the grand final at Swansea on Sunday 25th August, where the top 4 teams from the West will meet the top 4 teams from the East. Individual highlights at Neath included overall winning performances set by:
U15G: Chloe Simmonite (44.73) 300m; Freya Morgan & Katelyn Thomas (11.70) 75m Hurdles & (1.40m) High Jump; Millie Carter (3.06m) Pole Vault and Lucy Harris (26.40m) Discus & (23.75m) Hammer.
U15B: Dylan Morgan (11.64) 100m & (23.82) 200m & (5.76m) Long Jump and William Trott (3.81m) Pole Vault. 
U13G: Ffion Clarke (27.68) 200m; Zoe Strevens (12.37) 70m Hurdles; Ruby Jones (1.40m) High Jump; Carys Morgan (9.21m) Shot and Bethan Holley (14.38m) Discus. 
U13B: Oliver Patterson (5.05.5) 1500m; Joseff Walters (12.52) 75m Hurdles and David Ejimofor (1.40m) High Jump & (8.94m) Shot.
U11G: Libby Hale (2.41.47) 800m and Alice Prosser (13.32m) Javelin.
U11B: Ruari Harris (10.93) 75m & (21.51) 150m and Macsen Holland (6.86m) Shot & (19.45m) Javelin.

Wednesday 31st July saw over 100 athletes compete at the Welsh Milers Club at Swansea. Highlights included overall top performances in each age group and event set by:
1 Mile Walk: U20W Megan Stratton-Thomas (8.13.21) and SW Jemima Osborn (11.16.88)
800m SM Dominic Smith (2.00.42); U20M Elliot Lawrence (2.00.97); U15B Harrison Garcia (2.17.74); U13B Steffan Higgins (2.34.15) and U13G Chloe Lewis (2.51.61).
1500m U15B Mathew Lewis (5.00.50) and SW Rachel Davies (5.02.09)
3000m Abigayle Goodrick-Latham (10.28.92)
Thursday 1st August at the Belfast International, SW Hannah Brier runs (11.82) for 4th in the 100m; younger brother SM Joseph Brier wins the 400m in (47.12) and SW Elinor Kirk places 4th over 3000m in (9.19.56).
The weekend of Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th August saw Wales field a senior team in the home countries combined events championships at Manchester. The team consisted of just the one Swansea Harrier; SW Jodi Beynon who amassed a score of 3401 points across the seven events of the heptathlon, on route setting a lifetime best in the 800m (2.26.11). Well done Jodi.
Sunday 4th August saw both our senior men and womens team compete together in the final rounds of the British Mens and UK Womens league matches at Wigan. Both teams put in very respectable performances to finish in an equally respectable mid table of their respective divisions, therefore retaining their statuses for next year. Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions the last few events were cancelled. Our sincere thanks to all the athletes, team managers, officials and coaches who contributed to such a successful season, in such competitive leagues packed full of some very capable teams. Highlights at Wigan included overall winning performances set by: Kristian Jones (14.17.08) 5000m; Thomas Walley (4.60m) Pole Vault and Caryl Granville (57.78) 400m Hurdles.
Sunday 4th August were Welsh U13, U15 & U17 Inter Regional Championships @ Aberdare. Full ratified results are not yet available, we will include these in the next results round up.
Sunday 4th August was the Barry Island 10km where there was a fine win for Joshua Griffiths coming home in (30.22), he was followed home  by 8th Matthew Rees (32.56); 24th John Moran (35.15); 63rd Phil Matthews (38.56) making our top three. Llinos Jones was our sole female in 22nd (41.46). Well done to them all, click here for the full results.
Tuesday 6th August was the Loughborough open meeting, where club legend Dai Greene former Commonwealth, European and World 400m Hurdles champion, ran a time of (51.22) to win the 400m Hurdles and SW Lauren Williams placed 5th in her 400m Hurdles in a time of (60.28).
