Results Round Up From Pembrey, Llanmadoc & Elsewhere

Saturday 22nd September were the Welsh Road Relay Championships held at a very wet Pembrey Country Park. It proved to be a successful championships as ever for the club, with teams entered in most age categories.
With the introductory groups having September off U11B Joseph Williams was our only competitor in the U11 race placing 26th.
The U13B quartet of Morgan Willis, Mathew Lewis, Ben Fenwick & Jed Howard-Jones placed 8th (31.49), with Mathew our fastest individual in 13th overall (6.25).
The U13G quartet of Mai Davies, Chloe Simmonite, Kaitlyn Jones & Sophie Hartley-Green placed 7th (27.51), with Chloe our fastest individual in 15th (6.47).
The U15B trio of Iwan White, Miles Hill & Charlie Holland placed 5th (33.30), with Charlie our fastest individual in 6th (10.44).
The U15G trio of Daisy Thompson, Abbie Hall & Ella Davies placed 4th, with Daisy our fastest individual in 7th (12.05).
The U17M trio of Nathan Jones, William Arnold & Dafyd Jay had great run for BRONZE, Dafyd was our fastest individual and in fact fastest across all clubs in (9.45) with a dip finish any sprinter would have been proud of to snatch the Bronze, Nathan was also 2nd fastest across all clubs, well done boys!
The U17W fielded 3 teams with our A trio of Caitlyn Gwyther, Bronwen Stratton-Thomas & Ashleigh Willis winning a great team BRONZE, Ashleigh was our fastest individual in 2nd (11.21) overall.
The SM quartet of Marc Hobbs, Joshua Griffiths, Jonathan Hopkins & Elliot Lawrence did a fantastic job retaining their title for team GOLD with a winning margin of over 4 minutes (69.16), Joshua & Jonathan had the joint fastest individual times across all clubs too (16.52)! Our B team placed 5th.
The SW awesome foursome matched the SM in winning team GOLD and retaining their title from last year, Alaw Beynon-Thomas, Sian Kirk, Rachel Davies & Kate Roberts won by 8 minutes (83.41), with Alaw (19.42), Kate (19.52) & Rachel (21.32) taking the fastest 3 individual time across all clubs! Our B team just missed out on medals too in 4th!
Our MM35+ trio of Daniel Otteson, Owen Davies & Heath Brett placed 10th (67.07), with Daniel our fastest individual in 18th (21.02).
Our 3rd team GOLD came from the MW35+ with the trio of Helen Marshall, Helen-Marie Davies & Llinos Jones with a 4 minute winning margin (65.16), Helen (20.59) and Llinos (21.33) had the two fastest individual times across all clubs!
Our MM45+ had an incomplete team with Raul Reismann our sole runner.
MW45+ and MW55+ unfortunately no teams.
MM55+ trio of Kneath Philippart, Steve Smith & Rob Falconer won a fine team SILVER (67.09), with Steve (21.41) & Kneath (21.53) taking the fastest two individual times across all clubs.

Sunday 23rd September was round 1 of 5 in the West Glamorgan Cross Country League for our seniors in sunny Llanmadoc, we had a good turnout of 26 runners despite the clash with the road relays. Our top 5 men home over the challenging multi terrain route were: 7th Michael Bryant having a strong run to break into the top 10; 13th John Moran, 14th Craig Jones, 15th Eamonn Kirk and 17th Daniel Newton. In the ladies it was a fantastic one two with Helen Marshall winning by over 2 and half minutes from Helen-Marie Davies in 2nd; they were followed home by 11th Vanessa Harragan; 21st Victoria Williams and 26th Sian Phillips. Meanwhile elsewhere………………………… SM Dewi Griffiths sets a lifetime best for 10 miles against a field of word class athletes placing 11th in (47.20). Sunday 23rd September at the Bristol Half Marathon SM Matthew Rees sets a lifetime best of (69.51) to place a very respectable 3rd for a place on the podium; also at Bristol were SW Sharon Leech (97.33); SM David Lamb (95.24); SM Simon Coombes (96.22); SW Hayley Phillips (1.40.35) and SM Andrew Downie (1.41.31).
