Results Round Up From Swansea, Malaga & Elsewhere

Sunday 2nd September in testing wet and windy conditions, which certainly effected everyone’s times, were the Swansea Bay 10km, 5km, 3km and 1km races, as ever there was a great turnout from the club across all the race with many fine results.
In the 10km from almost 4,000 finishers our top 5 Men and Women were as follows:
Men: it was a brilliant BRONZE for Marc Hobbs in (31.24) who was followed across the line by 7th Matthew Rees (32.12); 32nd James Dean (36.03); 35th Eamonn Kirk (36.12) and 65th Daniel Morgan (37.46).
Women: having a great run to break into the top 10 was 10th Llinos Jones (40.18); followed home Helen-Marie Davies (42.11); 25th Nina Brocklebank (42.54); 28th Abigayle Goodrick-Latham (43.15) and 41st Emily Marchant (44.22).
In the junior races our first 3 boys and girls across the line were; 
5km in what was a sparsely attended race, Ashleigh Willis won GOLD in a great time of (18.45) and was backed up by BRONZE medallist Mirain Lloyd (23.16). No boys ran.
3km Boys: 6th Matt Gudgeon (11.21); 7th Matthew Lewis (11.35) and 11th Morgan Willis (12.04).
3km Girls: an amazing GOLD for Ella Davies crossing the line in (11.19); with an equally amazing SILVER for Daisy Thompson (11.22) and Mai Davies in 5th (12.00).
1km Boys: it was a magnificent 1 2 on the podium for our sprinters stepping up in distance for GOLD Jenson Morris (3.31); SILVER Oliver Patterson (3.38) ably supported by 6th Gethin Tudor.
1km Girls: it was a fine SILVER for Kaitlyn Jones in (3.37) just behind in 4th was Carys Hennessy (3.46) and 12th Efa Williams (4.34).

Back in warmer Malaga Spain, another club stalwart brought home our 3rd medal in the World Masters Championships after John Owen and Paul Flynn last week; with a huge (4.05m) Pole Vault for M50 Glyn Price to win BRONZE just behind the Spanish and English athletes!
