Thursday 23rd June is the Afan Nedd Tawe Secondary Schools & Colleges U14 & U16 Cup Match at Swansea University. This is a team event where the top two teams rather than individuals in each of the four sections by the end of the days event progress to the Welsh Schools Athletics Association Cup and Plate Finals at Aberdare on Wednesday 6th July. The age groups are different to clubs for this event where years 7 & 8 compete as U14 and years 9 & 10 compete as U16. If you would like to take part on the 23rd please see your PE teacher to be asked to be considered for selection. Click here for a match program 23.06.22 U14 & U16 ANT Schools Cup Timetable & Program At Aberdare the school teams will be up against the top school team from each of the other seven schools districts in the cup final and the runners up from each district in the plate final. The eight districts in Wales are  Afan Nedd Tawe, Glamorgan Valleys, Eryri, North East Wales, South East Wales, Dyfed, Powys and Cardiff and the Vale.

Click here for the full results and team scores from Thursday 23rd June 23.06.22 ANT U14 & U16 CUP RESULTS the Afan Nedd Tawe Schools would like to pass on their thanks to all the teachers and volunteers who made the day possible on what was one the biggest turnouts ever for a cup match. It was great to see some of our year 11, 12 & 13 pupils/athletes assisting with the juding too: Lucy Harris, Chloe Jones, Evan Cole, Joseph Beresford, Thomas Payne & Owain Clarke.

Wednesday 29th June is a the final online workshop scheduled this academic year for Secondary School Teachers and those wishing to deliver athletics in curricular and extra-curricular time. The Workshop is aimed at qualified and trainee teachers, as well as those supporting the management and delivery of high quality sport and physical education in secondary schools, and is packed full of useful teaching tips and ideas for more details click here.

Saturday 2nd July is the Welsh Schools & Colleges Athletics Association Championships at Cardiff. An Afan Nedd Tawe team has been selected based on the results of their championships held back on Wednesday 4th May at Swansea ANT CHAMPS RESULTS 04.05.22 Selection letters were emailed to all event winners PE teachers on Sunday 8th May for distribution to pupils. Our colleges at the Afan Nedd Tawe Schools Athletics Association advise us that the closing date for replies is Friday 3rd June at which point they will start to select reserves for those pupils that have not responded, in the highly unlikely event you have not replied in time you’d better get a move on.

Wednesday 6th July is the Welsh Schools Cup & Plate Finals at Aberdare for the U14 (School years 7 & 8) & U16 (School years 9 & 10) age groups. The qualifying teams from the cup match held on Thursday 23rd June were YG Gwyr in the cup final for all four sections, joining them are the U14G & U16B from Olchfa and the U16G & U14B from Bishopston. At Aberdare they will be up against the winning school teams from the other seven Welsh School districts of Dyfed, Cardiff & The Vale, Glamorgan Valleys, Eryri, North East Wales, Powys & South East Wales.

Saturday 16th July is the U17 British Schools International at Belfast, Northern Ireland, event winners at the Schools Championships on 2nd July are automatically selected in the U17 age group (School Years 10 & 11) WSAA TF SIAB Selection Policy 2022
