Welsh Schools U15 U17 & U20 Championships @ Aberdare
Welsh Schools U15 (School years 8&9), U17 (School Years 10&11) & U20 (School years 12,13&14) Championships at Aberdare sees the top pupils compete who have qualified through their school district cup finals from the Afan Nedd Tawe, Dyfed, Glamorgan Valleys, Eryri, Powys, North East Wales, South East Wales and Cardiff & the Vale fixtures. Verification of Performances: In the senior age-groups, districts are allowed to enter up to two athletes in each event, plus any additional entries who achieve the qualifying standard (*NB, if any additional entries are submitted, then all athletes in those events MUST have achieved the qualifying standard as outlined in the table below). It is accepted that, in some events, Districts may have multiple athletes who have achieved the qualifying standard. Additional entries are also permitted in the Middle age-group, subject to the same conditions as
for senior athletes. In the Junior age-groups the number of permitted entries is one per event. Juniors are not permitted to compete in 2 endurance events (ie, 800/1500/Race Walk). UK Rule TR3 S2. Every additional athlete will be checked against P10 to confirm they have achieved the standard, only performances on the P10 platform will be accepted (www.thepowerof10.info). Seniors may enter THREE individual events, but the limit for the Middle and Junior age groups remains at TWO individual events.

Thursday 1st May 2025 was the Afan Nedd Tawe U15, U17 & U20 Schools & Colleges Track & Field Championships at Swansea University. This is the trial match for the Welsh Schools Championships to be held at Aberdare on Saturday 5th July 2025, which in turn acts as the trial match for the Welsh Schools U17 team to compete at Derby on Saturday 19th July 2025 V England V Scotland V Ireland.
