Welsh U14 & U16 Sportshall Athletics Final @ Cowbridge Leisure Centre
U14 = School years 7 & 8 and U16 = School years 9 & 10 age groups. The winning teams in each of the boys and girls age groups will go forward to represent Wales in the UK finals at Fenton Manor, Stoke on Saturday 17th April 2027, along with the top individuals in the U16 age group. See your PE teacher to be asked to be considered for selection in your school district trial.
Each school district can hold a trial to select teams consisting of the following composition.
Under 14 events (School Years 7 & 8, teams of 10 to 12 boys & 10 to 12 girls):

2 Lap Race Obstacle Relay Vertical Jump
4 Lap Race 8 Lap Paarlauf Shot
6 Lap Race 4 x 2 Lap Relay Speed Bounce
4 x 1 Lap Relay Standing Long Jump
Standing Triple Jump
(Obstacle relay – high stepper, speed bounce & 2 x hurdles)
(Athletes can be selected in a maximum of 3 events and just 1 event from each section)
Under 16 events (School Years 9 & 10, teams of 6 girls & 6 boys):

2 Lap Race Standing Long Jump Speed Bounce 8 Lap Paarlauf
4 Lap Race Vertical Jump (Girls only) Shot 4 x 2 Lap Relay
Standing Triple Jump (Boys only)
(6 athletes must compete in one event in each section plus a relay, with a maximum of 3 athletes from each team in any one discipline. A 7th reserve athlete can compete in one of the relays and as a non scorer in sections B or C of their choosing)
