Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Cardiff, Merthyr Mawr, Telford, Swansea & Malaga Spain.

Wednesday 6th December was the Cardiff Met University Dual Meet where several of our U20 & U23 athletes were representing their university teams. Our overall top performer in each event were as follows. In the 60m we give a warm welcome to new signing William Hawker who recorded a 7.09, in the Womens 60m Lauryn Davey finished in 7.97 & threw a 10.68m Shot; 200m Joseph Beresford ran 23.81 & was also our best with 38.54 in the 300m & 200m Sasha Petrie recorded 31.53. Sunday 10th December was the Telford 10km, where Dewi Griffiths set one of his fastest ever times of 28.40 placing 4th, just 4 seconds from taking the win! Dewi was followed home by 64th Jonathan Butler 30.09, 73rd Jonathan Hopkins 30.21, 103rd Morgan James 30.48, 145th Matthew Harvey 31.27, 236th Matthew Verran 32.45  In the Women’s race Sioned Howells was 60th in 36.12 and 71st Gemma Tutton 36.26. Sunday 10th December was the Merthyr Mawr Christmas Pudding Multi Terrain Race saw nine Swansea Harriers take part in this iconic multi terrain race over an extremely challenging 10km route. Our first three Men and Women home were, Men 12th Craig Jones 47.15, 23rd Alan Davies 49.23 and 70th Heath Brett 56.41. Women saw a fantastic win for Sian Edwards 47.20 followed home by 6th Llinos Jones 54.28 and 8th Sharon Leech 54.53. Click here for the full results.

Sunday 10th December was the Swansea Harriers Indoor Pole Vault invitation match where 16 of our vaulters were in action, our top performer in each age group and gender were: Seniors Jack Houghton 2.40m & Megan Morris 2.60m; U20 Charlie Shuall 3.90m & Amy Beynon 2.90m; U17 Oliver Philpott 3.10m & Alice Prosser 2.10m; U15 Alfie Philpott 2.50m & Freya Birt 2.10m. Sunday 10th December was the Malaga Spain Half Marathon where Joshua Griffiths had a great run to place 4th in 66.36, Sam Joseph ran a PB of 75.28 and Emma Baxter crossed the line in 87.30, well done all! Click here for the full results.
