Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Houston, Texas, USA, Leicester, Corwen, Lafaette, Louisiana, USA, Bath & Llanelli.

Thursday 14th March Steffan Jones has a rare outing over 800m from his usual 400m and runs an 800m Personal Best of 1.57.22 in Houston, Texas, USA, well done Steffan!

Saturday 16th March at the Podium 5km in Leicester many of the UK’s top road runners and elite overseas runners gathered in very talented fields, where the main highlight for our club was a 6th place finish and 3rd Briton for Verity Ockenden in the elite Women’s race in 15.27. Jonathan Butler finished 47th in a super quick time of 14.25 in the Elite Men’s race. In the other seeded races Matthew Verran recorded a time of 15.23 and Joshua Morgan 16.18. Well done all on such excellent runs.

Saturday 16th March was the British Masters Cross Country Championships at Corwen, North Wales. M60 Ifan Lloyd picked up a BRONZE in his age category in the 8km race and M45 Owen Davies placed 15th in his age group, well done to both, who were up against the very best Masters runners  in the UK.

Saturday 16th March SW Sofia Harrison runs a 2.32.57 for 800m in Lafaette, Louisiana, USA, well done Sofia!

Sunday 17th March was the Bath Half Marathon in a field of over 8,500 where we had three finishers with 28th Blair McWhirter 1.09.04 followed home by 153rd Alfie Robinson 1.19.32 and 812th Leigh Fennell 1.37.28, well done all!

Sunday 17th March was the Great Welsh Full & Half Marathons at Llanelli. There was a comfortable victory for Joshua Griffiths in the half marathon coming across the line in 1.08.34 followed by 4th Craig Jones just missing a podium place in 1.17.19, 10th Alex Sutherland 1.22.25, 17th Thomas Morris 1.24.37, 128th Julie Hartley-Green 147.26 and 130th Robin D’Arcy 1.47.48. Audrey Alies was our only runner in the Women placing 8th with a time of 1.39.20. In the full marathon we had just the two runner where there was a fine BRONZE for Michael Bryant in 2.42.06 followed by 8th Daniel Newton 2.50.24. Well done everyone!
