Saturday 1st June saw us host the first round of the Senior Men’s & Women’s National Athletics League, and it went very well indeed, the weather was great, we had pretty much a full team of athletes, all the visiting clubs brought plenty of athletes and officials too (note the officials contribute 50 points to the team score too), the squad ended up winning the match, and will try to retain this form over the remaining matches. Thank you to all the volunteers in their numerous roles that made the day possible and to all the athletes who were out representing their club. The main highlight of the day was an all time club record for our Senior Men in the 4 x 100m with the quartet of William Hawker, Daniel Beadsley, Marek Warzocha and Stanislav Kovalenko who crossed the line in 41.43 beating the previous record of 41.9 set back in the year 2000, congratulations boys!
