This week we have plenty of results to round up for you from Tonbridge, Bracknell, Gloucester, Aberavon, Karlstad Sweden, Coventry, Basingstoke, Aberdare, Porthcawl, Gateshead, Swansea x 2 and Brecon.
Tuesday 1st July U13B Tomi Jones ran a 4.42.40 for 1500m in Tonbridge, well done Tomi!
Wednesday 2nd July SM Jac Hopkins runs 8.26.36 for the 3000m In Bracknell, London, well done Jac!
Wednesday 2nd July SM Chris Lloyd jumps 11.10m in the Triple Jump at Gloucester, well done Chris!
Wednesday 2nd July was the Run4All 5k Summer Series Race 1 of 3 at Aberavon, where we had 3 runners, in the Men Steven Taylor was home first for the club in 6th with a 17.43. In the women Tori Barry had a great run to step onto the podium in 3rd overall with a 20.00 and Catrin Davies was 7th in 20.57, well done all!
Thursday 3rd July U20W Hannah Kinane runs a fast 4.22.22 for 1500m in Karlstad, Sweden, well done Hannah!
Saturday 5th July U23M Michael Jenkins throws 17.74m with a 5kg Shot to win the UK Para Championships at Coventry, congratulations Michael!
Saturday 5th July was the National Athletics League for Senior Men & Women Round 2 of 3 at Basingstoke, where the team made it two wins from two matches to extend their lead at the top of the league table.

Saturday 5th July was the Welsh Schools U15 U17 & U20 Championships at Aberdare where Swansea Harriers had plenty of it’s athletes in action, most representing Afan Nedd Tawe and some Dyfed, some Glamorgan Valleys and Cardiff and the Vale. Sunday 6th July was the Porthcawl 10km where we had two athletes on the podium in the Men with Dewi Griffiths coming home in 2nd with a 29.49 and Joshua Griffiths in 3rd with a 30.42, followed home by 8th Matthew Verran 32.03, 121st Daniel Morgan 39.35 and 331st Rabab Rabab to make our top 5 Men. In the Women first home was 46th Chloe Hartley-Green 44.20 followed by 99th Sophie Beresford 47.14, 190th Bethan Dowding 49.59, 220th Stella Rae Hicks 51.16 and 237th Sian Phillips 51.47 to make our top 5 Women. Well done all!
Sunday 6th July saw two Swansea Harriers selected to represent Wales Masters at the Great North 10km in Gateshead. W45 Helen-Marie Davies came home 9th in her age category with a 43.34 and M70 Alan Davies had a superb run to win his age group crossing the line in a super fast 38.34 in what was an undulating course, well done both!
Sunday 6th July was the U17 & U20 Youth Development League Round 3 of 3 at Swansea, where despite the weekend clash with Welsh Schools for the same age groups and the Swansea Air Show, the club still maged to put on a great event and the team ended the league season in a solid mid table to retain their place in the Premier Division. Our thanks to all the volunteers behind the scenes that made the event happen and to our team managers, coaches and officials too. Individual highlights included event wins for:

Wednesday 9th July was the Welsh Schools U14 & U16 Cup & Plate finals at Brecon, in ideal weather for athletics there were a number of Swansea Harriers our representing the Olchfa, Gwyr, Amman Valley & Bishopston school teams that qualified for the finals. Click here for the full team and individual results 2025_NASUWT_CUP_AND_PLATE_FINAL_RESULTS Highlights included a championship best in the U14B plate final by Oliver Cobbold 4.36.73, a U14 Cup Championship best performance by Katriel Udoh in the High Jump with 1.60m, event wins cam in the U14G Cup 300m by Katriel Udoh with a 44.68, U14G Cup 800m Rosie Jones 2.37.89, U14G Cup Long Jump Lily Shubin 4.44m, U16G Cup 100m Rutendo Chasweka 12.87 & Long Jump 4.86m and U16G Cup 75m Hurdles Freya Birt 12.24.
Wednesday 9th July was race 3 of 3 in the Paul Popham 5km series at Swansea. In the Men’s race after setting a championship best performance over 1500m earlier that day in Brecon U15B Oliver Cobbold crossed the line in 2nd place in 16.12 followed home by 11th Isaac Mcadie 18.22, 15th Paul Flynn 18.38, 17th Alan Davies 18.52 and 22nd Piers Oliphant 19.29. In the Women’s race there was a fine win for Sioned Howells 18.34 followed home by 7th Catrin Davies 20.48, 8th Millie Thorne 21.18, 10th Chloe Hartley-Green 21.45 and 12th Sophie Hartley-Green, well done all!
