Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Swansea, Oxford, Stratford, York, Lake District and St Clears, including yet two more all time club records, one of which is an all time Welsh Record!

Thursday 14th August was the 5km On The Bay Race at Blackpill, Swansea. Our top 5 Men & Women home were; Men: 1st Dewi Griffiths who crossed the line in a super fast 13.59 followed home by 5th Oliver Cobbold 16.04, 7th Craig Jones 16.33, 9th Matthew Harvey 16.42 and 20th Andrew Cleverley 17.27. Women: First home for the club in 2nd was Hannah Williams 18.17, followed by 6th Iona Evans 19.22, 7th Luticia Thomas 19.36, 10th Chloe Hartley-Green 19.46 and 12th Llinos Jones 19.56. Well done all!

Saturday 16th August saw the Senior Men & Women National Athletics League Promotion Match at Oxford. It was a very closely fought match as expected against awesome opposition, and it proved to be a very, very successful day for the team placing 2nd! Congratulations to all the athletes, team managers, officials & coaches who contributed not only to the final but also across the 3 league matches to get into the 2026 Premier Division for the top track & field clubs in the UK!

1st Michael Jenkins 56.72m Discus, Charlie Shuall 4.63m Pole Vault, Sophie Lisk 1.01.40 400m Hurdles, Matilda Quick 1.63m High Jump, Jake Cover 14.56 110m Hurdles, Carys Jones 3.33m Pole Vault and Patrick Swan 17.09m Shot.

2nd Emily Thomas 5.67m Long Jump, Eniola Adedotun 10.67 100m, Lucy Harris 41.53m Discus, Matilda Quick 14.34 100m Hurdles, Sam Davies 1.98m High Jump, William Hawker, Jenson Morris, Jake Cover, Eniola Adedotun 41.81 4 x 100m and Evie Aitchison, Darcie Bass, Caitlin Gwyther, 3.58.64 4 x 400m.

3rd Osian Parry 55.5 400m Hurdles, Lili Church 1.63m High Jump, Brychan Price-Davies 9.46.51 3000m Steeplechase, Lauryn Davey 36.05m Javelin, Isabella Wigley 24.91 200m, Lewie Jones 59.03 Javelin and Cristina Poulsen, Isabella Wigley, Lauryn Davey, Matilda Quick 48.66 4 x 100m.

Sunday 17th August SW Hannah Brier had an incredible run to break her own all time Welsh & Club record for the 100m to reconfirm her as the fastest Welsh Women ever crossing the line in 11.26 in Stratford London, despite having been training for 400m only all year and to put the cherry on top she also ran a PB for 200m with a 23.16 also breaking her club record! Very many congratulations Hannah! Also at Stratford Eli Onyewu ran 10.76 for the 100m and Joseph Brier ran 46.50 for 400m, well done both!

Sunday 17th August were the England Masters AA Outdoors Inter-Area Challenge at York. Picking up some Welsh Vests representing Wales were W40 Kath Morgan 12.67m Discus & 1.43m High Jump, W75 Daphne Marler 1.62m Long Jump, M65 Roderick Davies 3.54m Long Jump and W40 Maria Kowal 5.09.55 1500m, helping the team toa 6th place finish, well done to all four!

Sunday 17th August saw SM Joshua Griffiths representing Wales in the British & Irish Mountain Running Championships in the Lake District. Joshua was the first Welshman home in an amazing 8th, helping te team to the BRONZE medal, many congratulations Josh on yet another Welsh vest to add to your collection!

Sunday 17th August was the St Clears 10km incorporating the West Wales Championships. Held over an undulating course which saw another win & west Wales GOLD for Dewi Griffiths crossing the line in 31.06 almost 5 minutes ahead of 2nd place! Following Dewi home were our other medallists, 11th M70 Alan Davies & West Wales & West Wales M65+ GOLD, 12th M35 Daniel Morgan & West Wales M35+ BRONZE, 18th M60 Martyn Hughes-Dowdle & M55+ BRONZE and our only runner in the Women with 72nd W65 Sue Peters winning W65+ GOLD!
