Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Bury, Amsterdam, Exeter, Leeds, Gowerton & Newport
Sunday 17th October saw M65 Chris Pruski compete in the Northern Masters Athletics Championships at Bury, where it was three wins from three events in his age category, with a Shot in 8.12m, Javelin in 28.83m and 100m 15.7, well done Chris!
Sunday 17th October M35 Mark Rabaiotti runs a lifetime best of 2:49:10 in the Amsterdam Marathon, well done Mark!
Monday 18th October saw the Afan Nedd Tawe Secondary Schools & Colleges cross country development races held at Elba, Gowerton. Over 400 school pupils finished the races in wet overhead and underfoot conditions. Highlights for Swansea Harriers athletes included top 10 placings for:
YR7G: 3rd Gwennan Griffiths; 5th Ruby Hirst; 6th Tabitha Ventress-Brett.
YR10 to 14G: 2nd Sophie Hartley-Green.

Wednesday 20th October was the South West England Universities open meeting at Exeter, where three of our senior ladies were our representing their university teams; Niamh Jones ran 66.2 to win the 400m; Bronwen Stratton-Thomas finished 2nd over 1500m in 5.05.1 and Charlotte Campion won both the long jump in 4.58m and triple jump in 10.20m, well done all!
Saturday 23rd October at the British Grand Prix of Race Walking Megan Stratton-Thomas places a very respectable 10th over the 10km race distance in a time of 64.55, well done Megan!
Sunday 24th October was the Abbey Dash 10km in Leeds, in what is always a high quality field, we had just the one runner this year Paul Tobin placing 43rd in 30:46 a personal best, well done Paul!
Sunday 24th October was the Newport 10km & Marathon, where over the 10km distance, Dewi Griffiths had a great run to finish 6th in 30:06; followed home by 9th Jonathan Butler in a personal best of 31:53; 16th Ben Williams 33:01 also a personal best; 18th Matthew Harvey 33:20 and 304th Damian Grinter in 46.22. Over the half marathon race distance our quickest was Mark Rabaiotti in 2:52:31, followed by Alex Scott 2:53:32 a personal best; 119th Steven Taylor in 2:58:40; 189th Llinos Jones in 3:05:49; 195th Paul Flynn in 3:06:07; 199th Owen Davies in 3:06:17 a personal best; 201st Emily Marchant in 3:06:48; 431st Lucy Tothill in 3:25:10; 487th Luticia Thomas in 3:28:50 and 490th Simon Coombes in 3:28:31 which was a personal best too! Well done to all those who took part!
