Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from, Delhi India, Cardiff, Chester, Bangor and Cologne Germany.
Monday 27th September to Sunday 5th October were the World Para Athletics Championships in Delhi India where Swansea Harriers had not one but two athletes selected for the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team. Congratulations to Harrison Walsh who finished an excellent 5th in the men’s F44 1.25kg discus throw final with a best of 51.49m and to Michael Jenkins who threw a European record of 18.84m to take the bronze medal in the F38 5kg shot put, amazing & congratulations! Both athletes are now inducted into our Hall Of Fame which is for senior members who have competed at the Olympic Games, World Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games or the European Athletics Championships.


Sunday 5th October was the Cardiff Half Marathon with 27,000+ runners it’s tricky and time consuming to pick all our runners out, but we think we had around 20 finishers and our top 5 Men and Women home amongst them were:
Men: having a great run for 25th and picking up the SILVER medal in the Welsh Championships which were incorporated into the race was 26th Jonathan Butler 1.06.55, 39th Matthew Verran 1.09.35, 50th Matthew Rees 1.11.17, 151st Craig Jones 1.17.11 and 2694th Daniel Thomas 1.42.06.
Women: 57th Emily Smith 1.27.51, 85th Lucy Richards 1.30.12, 121st Sian George 1.32.58, 142nd Ffion George 1.34.11 and 206th Kelcy Hooper 1.37.23

Sunday 5th October saw Josh Griffiths have a great run in the Chester Marathon, taking the victory in 2.17.16 and Sophie Beresford who ran 3.49.03, well done both!
Sunday 5th October Ed Slaughter has a great run to take the SILVER medal in the Bangor 10km crossing the line in 33.24, well done Ed!
Sunday 5th October was the Cologne Marathon in Germany where we had three finishers, Christine Webb 3.46.52, Esther Dixson 5.01.58 and Kelly Gipson 5.38.49, well done all!
