Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Madeira Portugal, Portsmouth, Abingdon, Trafford, (Pembrey), Amsterdam Netherlands and London.

Between Friday 10th October to Sunday 19th October M60 Glyn Price placed a magnificent 9th in the Decathlon at the European Masters Championships in Madeira Portugal. Glyn’s final total of 5511 points came courtesy of a 14.39 100m, 72.14 400m, 7.01.68 1500m, 18.60 100m Hurdles, 1.44m High Jump, 3.60m Pole Vault, 4.72m Long Jump, 9.42m Shot, 29.82m Discus and 20.87m Javelin, very many congratulations Glyn on such a great set of results! Also competing in the M80 3kg Shot was Ian Bowles who placed 10th with a best of 7.44m, 6th in the Weight throw with a 10.72m, 5th in the 1kg Discus with 24.18m, 10th in the 400g Javelin with 13.64m and 10th in the 3kg Hammer with 23.56m well done Ian!

Sunday 19th October was the Great South Run in Portsmouth incorporating the UK 10 Mile Championships where there was a fantastic run from Verity Ockenden the former European 2021 indoor bronze medallist over 3000m, to win the championships in a time of 56.37, congratulations Verity!

Sunday 19th October was the Abingdon Marathon incorporating the Wales V England Masters International. We are please to see three Swansea Harriers in the Wales team too! W35 Abby Lewis ran a 2.58.03 lifetime best to place 12th overall and picking up the BRONZE in her age group, W45 Llinos Jones ran a 3.12.45 for 36th overall and 6th in her age group and W55 Sharon Leech was 87th overall and 9th in her age group well done all!

Sunday 19th October SM Matthew Verran runs a fast 3.107 to place 28th in the Trafford 10km, well done Matthew!

Sunday 19th October was round 1 of 5 in the Seniors West Glamorgan Cross Country League at a very, very wet and windy Pembrey Country Park, we are awaiting the results. In the meantime we do have a team photo and an album wth plenty of action shots from Byron Williams.

Sunday 19th October was the Amsterdam Marathon where M35 Tom Bacon finished in a time of 3.09.0 and just behind in a new lifetime best was W35 Tori Barry in 3.10.0 and SW Catrin Davies in 3.11.12, congratulations all!

Sunday 19th October Christian Lovatt places 6th in the Civil Service Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill, London, well done Christian!
