Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Macclesfield and Cardiff.
Back on Sunday 26th October former Commonwealth Games 2014 & 2018 athlete Elinor Verron runs a 37.33 10km in Macclesfield to place 5th, well done Elinor!
Saturday 8th November was round 2 of 5 in the John Collins Cross Country League at Cardiff. The races also incorporated round 1 of the British Cross Challenge and a World Athletics Gold Label race for seniors with some of the best cross country runners in the World and UK taking part. In a fantastic event that was even live streamed on YouTube, we were lucky with the weather again with 90 of our runners crossing the line across the races. Thank you too all those who ran for the club and to the team managers for rounding them all up. Our scoring 4 juniors and 5 seniors are listed below rom the league results only (excluding the cross challenge), with some impressive top ten placings amongst them for teams as well as individuals, note the entire squad are essential as they prevent the other teams accumulating so many points!
U11G 5th Molly Shelmerdine, 19th Millie Coles, 31st Lara Joseph and 39th Betsy Williams. The team are doing well 5th in the league.
U11B was an incomplete team with 3 runners, 88th Keegan Beale, 95th Iwan Williams and 114th James King. The team are 24th in the league.
U13G 4th Molly-Mae McQueen, 13th Emily Evans-Williams, 22nd Ruby Harvey-Flinn and 29th Elise Davies. The team are doing amazingly well sitting on top of the league!
U13B 6th Tomi Jones, 53rd Jacka O’Callaghan, 58th Finley Davies and 76th Bowen Davies. The team are a solid mid table 12th in the league.
U15G 2nd overall was Aimee Porter who was running only in the Cross Challenge as she’s a second claim member, therefore is unable to score for us in the league. Aimee was followed home by our four scorers of 6th Isabelle Lawley, 29th Lyla Jonsson ,35th Gwenna Rees and 33rd Zoe Thompson. The team are another doing really well sitting in a podium sport 2nd in the league.
U15B 5th Oliver Cobbold, 28th Thomas Evans-Williams, 51st Isaac Mcadie and 61st Bo Cuthbertson. The team are doing very well placed 6th in the league.
U17W Saw a fantastic win for Holly Humphreys, followed home by 5th Millie Pierce, 17th Chloe Hartley-Green and 44th Imogen Mcadie. The team are doing very well placed 5th in the league table.
U17M Was an incomplete team of three finishers with 7th Osian Morgan, 15th Evan Price and 42nd Harvey Southam. The team are still doing really well just outside the podium spot at 4th in the league table,
U20W Saw our 2nd win of the day with Millie Gold crossing the line first followed home by 4th Hollie Lewis and 15th Lottie Robinson. Despite the incomplete team they did magnificently well and are top of the league table!
U20M Had two finishers with 18th Joshua Sanders and 36th Daniel May. The team are a mid table 13th.
SW & MW & MM65+ There was a very large quality field of 487 runners for the Senior Women’s race in Cardiff. Great running by all 13 of our senior women with our five scoring athletes finishing in the top 54 places with first home in 12th was Niamh McDonald, then back from the USA 16th Sophia Harrison, 39th Joanna Callan, 42nd Ashleigh Willis and 54th Caitlyn Gwyther. The team are a solid 5th in the league after the first two fixtures.
SM & MM Another large quality field of over 600 runners with several international stars. Amongst them our own Dafydd Jones who, for most of the race, was up there with the best, only slowing down over the last 500m with stitch. The whole team ran brilliantly with our 5 scorers finishing inside the top 50 of teh John Collins cross country league runners, taking the win was Dafydd Jones, followed home by 20th Morgan James, 24th Edward Davies, 34th Brychan Price-Davies and 51st Alfie Robinson. The team are going fantastically well in 2nd in the league.
