Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Cardiff x 2, Glasgow, Bristol and Valencia Spain.
Between Sunday 11th May to Sunday 2nd November was the Welsh 10km Road Race Series, a five-race series that includes existing 10km road races from around Wales at Caerphilly, Porthcawl, Caernarfon, Swansea and Cwmavon. Congratulations to all our seniors and masters who attained top ten placing, with particular congratulations to our top 3 runners across the series who were 1st SM Dewi Griffiths, 2nd SM Joshua Griffiths and 1st M35 Jonathan Butler.
Wednesday 3rd December was the indoor athletics Cardiff V Swansea V Birmingham universities match at Cardiff, amongst the students there were two Swansea Harriers in action, Iona Hassanscott ran 9.06 in the 60m and Eniola Adedotun had a comfortable win in the 60m with a fast 6.77 a personal best, well done both!
Saturday 6th December was the British Schools U16 & U18 Indoor Combined Events International at Glasgow. Just one Swansea Harrier made the Wales team this year with U18W Tabitha Ventress-Brett making the long journey. Tabitha amassed 2668 points to place 13th against the best U18 English, Scottish & Irish pentathletes courtesy of a 9.58m Shot, 10.12 60m Hurdles, 4.42m Long Jump, 1.33m High Jump and 2.35.20 800m, congratulations Tabitha!
Saturday 6th December was round 3 of the John Collins Cross Country League for U11 to Masters at a wet and windy character building series of races in Blaise Castle, Bristol. Our thanks to all the runners and team managers who made the longest trip of the season.
U11G saw Lara Joseph finishing 18th, Millie Coles 28th, Emmie Cornellius 37th and Fflur Prosser 69th. The team are doing very well placed 5th in the league.
U11B had three finishers just one short of a full team with 74th Keegan Beale, 104th Majd Husein and 105th Dylan Perkins. The team are now lying in 27th in the league.
U13G had a great turnout of 8 runners with our four scorers being 4th Molly-Mae Mqueen, 9th Emily Evans-Williams, 22nd Poppy Brannigan and 23rd Mali Humphreys The team are doing brilliantly sitting on top of the league table with two fixtures to go.
U13B No runners.
U15G had 7 runners with our four scorers as 5th Isabelle Lawley, 8th Lyla Jonsson, 20th Gwennan Gruffydd and 28th Zoe Thompson. The team are doing great sitting in a podium sport 3rd in the league table.
U15B had three finishers with our best placed individual of the day across all races, with Oliver Cobbold in 2nd, followed home by 34th Isaac Mcadie and 47th Felix Davies. The team are doing really well in 6th in the league.
U17W & U20W had 5 finishers with Sioned John having a superb run for 3rd overall followed home by 4th Millie Pierce, 7th Chloe Hartley-Green, 16th Sophie Hartley-Green and 38th Imogen Mcadie. The teams are doing great with U17W just outside a podium spot 4th in the league and our U20W doing brilliantly top of the league table!
U17M & U20M had three runners with 15th Jack Sullivan, 45th Harvey Southam and 46th Matthew Hines. The teams are doing great with the U17M just outside a podium sport 4th in the league table and U20M 15th in their division.
Senior & Masters Women had a team of six with our five scorers being 42nd Bronwen Stratton-Thomas, 69th Emma Joseph, 176th Caroline Morgan, 184th Angela Delaney and 185th Felicity Jones. The Women are 5th in Division 1.
Senior & Masters Men had eight runners with the scoring five home as 62nd Patrick Tudor, 86th Brychan Price-Davies, 88th Sam Joseph, 112th Andrew Cleverley and 202nd Paul Flynn. The Men are 7th in Division 1

Sunday 7th December was the Welsh Athletics Indoor Athletics U13 U15 & U17 Junior Open Meeting at Cardiff incorporating the West Wales juniors 200m, 300m & 400m Championships. It was great to see so many Swansea Harriers in action, many of whom were getting their first ever experience of indoor athletics, including more than a few that ran in the cross country at Bristol the day before. Highlights included our overall top performer in each event and gender listed below plus any West Wales medallists.

U17W Lily Mitchell 10.01m Triple Jump.
U15B Christian Nsozzi 1.37m High Jump and Glorious Khunda 6.63m Shot & 26.95 200m & West Wales GOLD,
U15G Etta Blatchford 4.20m Long Jump & 8.81m Triple Jump, Elizabeth Nsozzi 1.55m High Jump, Caitlyn Anthony 47.28 300m & West Wales SILVER & 29.05 200m & West Wales GOLD and Sofia Morgan 48.84 300m & West Wales BRONZE & 30.74 200m & West Wales SILVER.

Sunday 7th December was the Valencia, Spain Marathon known for its flat course and vibrant atmosphere, making it ideal for runners aiming for personal bests. Emily Marchant representing a Wales select team had a great run for 2.38.53 followed home by Elinor Vernon in 2.50.34, congratulations both!
