Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Margam Park, Swansea, Glasgow, Loughborough, Kenfig, Alsagar, Ystrad Mynach & Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit, Chichester.
Wednesday 28th January were the Afan Nedd Tawe Secondary Schools & Colleges Cross Country Championships at a very, very muddy Margam Park. There were 730 pupils running from 24 different schools and colleges, many of our sprinters and field event athletes were there too, amazing what they’ll do for a day off school, when they usually avoid one lap of the indoor track to warm up on club nights! Highlights included our top 10 placed runners home in each race as follows.
Year 7 Girls: 1st Mollie-Mae McQueen (Dylan Thomas), 3rd Ruby Harvey-Flinn (Bishopston), 4th Matilda Warchal (Bishopston) 5th Sienna Wooliscroft (Gowerton) and 8th Olive Knutson-Watson (Gowerton).
Year 7 Boys: 2nd Nate Gibbon (Bishopston), 6th Osian Lewis-Wright (Bishop Gore), 9th Freddie Thomas (Olchfa) and 10th Ben Williams (Bishopston).
Year 8 & 9 Girls: 2nd Zoe Thompson (Olchfa), 4th Gwennan Gruffydd (Gwyr) and 7th Mali Humphreys (Gwyr).
Year 8 & 9 Boys: 1st Tomi Jones (Gwyr), 3rd Isaac Mcadie (Gwyr), 6th Bo Cuthbertson (Gwyr), 7th Tomos Pugh (Gwyr) and Felix Davies (Bishopston).
Year 10 to 14 Girls:1st Holly Humphreys (Gwyr), 3rd Lyla Jonsson (Bishopston), 7th Gwenna Rees (Gwyr) and 9th Hannah Sullivan.
Year 10 to 14 Boys: 1st Osian Morgan (Gowerton) and 2nd Jack Griffiths (Olchfa).

Saturday 31st January were the West Wales Indoor Jumps Championships at Swansea where we had almost 100 of our athletes jumping as far and as high as they could! It was great to see such a large turnout from the club. Thanks to all the volunteers who made the possible and well done to all the athletes. Highlights included GOLD medal winning performances set by:
POLE VAULT: U15G Lily Shubin 2.60m Pole Vault, U15B Theo Lewis-Wright 2.40m Pole Vault, U13B Gabriel Leech-Griffiths 2.30m Pole Vault, U13G Cialla Clement 1.80m, SM Leigh Walker 4.12m, U20M Charlie Shuall 4.02m, U17M Alfie Philpott 3.52m, U20W Lyra Roberts 3.12m, U17W Ellie Dunleavy 3.02m and SW Rebekah Pratt 2.32m.
TRIPLE JUMP: U17M Mandikuzda Mupita 11.20m, U20M Evan Lewis 10.78m, SW Bethan Holley 10.28m, U17W Lily Jayne Mitchell 9.86m, U15G Etta Blatchford 9.14m, SM Robin Wood 9.05m and U15B Isaac Madeira-Cole 8.40m.
LONG JUMP: U13B Jenson Achillieos 3.71m, U11B Theo Morgan 3.39m, U15G Katriel Udoh 5.40m, U11G Cally Jones 3.37m, U20W Matilda Quick 5.69m, SW Lauryn Davey 5.50m, U17W Rutendo Chasweka 4.92m, U17M Mandikuzda Mupita 5.31m, SM Robin Wood 5.15m, Isaac Madeira-Cole 4.73m, and U13G Sienna Allen Chaplin F38 Para 2.83m.
HIGH JUMP: U20W Matilda Quick 1.70m, SM Daniel Williams 1.65m, U15G Katriel Udoh 1.60m, U15B George Thomas 1.28m and U13B Hayden Walker 1.28m.

Saturday 3st January SW Hannah Brier runs a 53.47 for 400m to place 8th overall in the Scottish Indoor Athletics International at Glasgow, congratulations Hannah!
Saturday 31st January & Sunday 1st February was the Loughborough Indoor Open Meeting where the club had one athlete in action SM James Ledger Para T11 who ran fast 7.61 in the 60m, well done James!
Sunday 1st February was the West Glamorgan Cross Country League Round 4 of 5 at Kenfig Nature Reserve held over a challenging multi terrain route. In the Women’s race first home was 52nd Angela Delaney, followed by 72nd Caroline Morgan with just two finishers we’ll need a big turnout in the final match of the season at Tairgwaith on Sunday 15th March to avoid relegation from Division 1. In the Men Marc Hobbs had a great run for 4th followed home by 7th Patrick Tudor, 8th Daniel May, 28th Paul Flynn and 78th Rabab Rabab making up our five scorers, the Men are doing really well and have a chance to win the league at the final match. Sunday 1st February was the Alsager 5 Mile Road Race where Sophia Harrison finished 8th in 29.58, well done Sophia!
Sunday 1st February was the Reverse 10 Mile Multi Terrain Race at Ystrad Mynach where there was a fine win for Sioned Howells who crossed the line in 1.04.11 over a minute ahead of her nearest rival, also running was 97th M50 Richard Sullivan coming home in 1.19.23, well done both!
Sunday 1st February was the British Masters 10km Road Race Championships at Goodwood Motor Race Circuit, Chichester, Maria Kowal won the Bronze Medal V40 in a personal best time of 37.21 in addition to recent Bronze in V40 British Vets road 5km, congratulations Maria!
