Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Chepstow, London, Cardiff, Sheffield and Llanelli.
Saturday 7th February was the John Collins Cross Country League for U11 to Masters in round 4 of 5 at Chepstow Race Course, where in yet another day of wind rain and very difficult underfoot conditions for our cross country runners. Thank you to all our team managers for rounding up teams, and very well done to all the runners who persevered in such tough conditions. Our scoring four juniors and five senior/masters are summarized below for you, not forgetting those outside of the scoring athletes who prevent the other teams accumulating so many points, so crucial to the league standings too.
U11G 5th Molly Shelmerdine, 12th Millie Coles, 30th Lara Joseph & 72nd Fflur Prosser. The team are well up there, 5th in the league.
U11B 34th Joshua Thompson, 61st Keegan Beale & 72nd Beau Maddrell-Thomas. The team are placed 21st in the league.
U13G saw an excellent win for Molly-Mae McQueen, followed home by 9th Emily Evans-Williams, 24th Ruby Harvey-Flinn & 28th Elsie Davies. The team are leading the way sitting top of the league table!!
U13B No runners. The team drop to 13th in the league.
U15G 16th Zoe Thompson, 18th Gwennan Gruffydd, 21st Rosie Jones & 28th Hannah Sullivan. The team are just outside a podium spot 4th in the league table.
U15B 9th Thomas Evans-Williams, 25th Isaac Mcadie, 30th Felix Davies & 33rd Oliver Cobbold. The team are well into the top 10 placed 6th in the league.
U17W & U20W 8th Chloe Hartley-Green & 26th Imogen Mcadie. The U17 team are 5th in the league, and our U20W doing amazingly well 2nd in the table.
U17M & U20M 21st Evan Price & 33rd Harvey Southam. The team are doing well in the U17 5th in the league with our U20 placed 19th.
Senior & Masters Women & Masters Men 65+: 99th Peter Osborne, 156th Felicity Jones, 163rd Angela Delaney & 185th Caroline Morgan. We are awaiting the senior and masters tables and will update this post when we have them for you.
Senior & Masters Men: 66th Patrick Tudor, 74th Sam Joseph, 124th John Moran & 275th Simon Merrick. We are awaiting the senior and masters tables and will update this post when we have them for you.

Saturday 7th February was the UK Athletics Cross Challenge Round 3 of 4 at Parliament Hill London incorporating the Home Nations and Celtic Cross Country International in just as bad weather and underfoot conditions we saw 5 of our athletes selected for Wales with mixed fortunes. Very many congratulations to U23M Ed Slaughter coming home in 41st, both U20W Millie Pierce, U20W Holly Humphreys did amazingly well with Millie getting a podium spot in 3rd and Holly just behind in 4th helping the Wales team to GOLD congratulations both! U17M Jack Griffiths was very unlucky to twist an ankle on his Welsh debut and not finish, but we are sure he’ll be back for more sooner rather than later. In the U13B for the club was Tomi Jones crossing the line in 15th and U15G Isabelle Lawley fishing in 11th.

Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th February was the Welsh Senior, U17 & Para Indoor Athletics Championships at Cardiff, where there was a great turnout from the club, well done to all our athletes especially those who picked up a medal or two:
GOLD U17W Tabitha Ventress-Brett 9.69 60m Hurdles, U17W Ellie Dunleavy 3.11m Pole Vault, SW Lyra Roberts 3.14m Pole Vault and SW Matilda Quick 1.73m High Jump.
SILVER SM Chris Lloyd 11.17m Triple Jump, SM Eniola Adedotun 6.77 60m, SM Charlie Shuall 4.18m Pole Vault, SW Matilda Quick 5.98m Long Jump, SM Evan Cole 8.46 60m Hurdles, U17W Freya Birt 2.81m Pole Vault, U17W Lily Jayne Mitchell 10.32m Triple Jump, SM Jacob Edghill 6.43m Long Jump, SW Evie Aitchison 59.69 400m and U17M Ioan Jones 9.90m Shot.
BRONZE SM Robin Wood 9.14m Triple Jump, U17M Ren Leech-Griffiths 2.52m Pole Vault, SW Matilda Quick 8.64 60m Hurdles, SM Leigh Walker 4.18m Pole Vault, SW Lauryn Davey 5.71m Long Jump and U17W Tabitha Ventress-Brett 10.10m Shot.
Hannah Brier also set a Welsh All Comers Record in the 200m Semi Final of 23.73 but chose not to contest the final, very many congratulations Hannah on such a spectacular run, Hannah is hoping to make the cut for her 3rd Commonwealth Games this summer in Glasgow where she first represented Wales as a 16 year old! Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th February was the England Athletics U15 U17 & U20 Age Group Indoor Championships at Sheffield, where we had two sprinters in action both in the U20M 60m where Jenson Morris was 5th in his heat in 7.18 and Jeremy Young was 7th in his heat just 0.01 slower in 7.19 both against the very best junior sprinters in the UK, well done both!
Sunday 8th February was the Llanelli 10km & Half Marathon. In the 10km there was a fine win for Joshua Griffiths crossing the line in 31.07 also stepping onto the podium in 3rd in the Women’s race with a great run too was Kristy Smith 39.40, followed home by 5th Kelcy Hooper 42.41 and 9th Bethan Froome 44.21 making our top 3 Women, Martin Kearns was 52nd in the Men with 43.25. In the Half Marathon for Men Daniel Newton was home first in 1.14.09 for 10th overall followed by 14th Craig Jones 1.15.20 and 24th Alex John in 1.19.29 making our top three Men. In the Women Half our top three home were 11th Millie Thorne 1.34.42, 38th Julie Hartley-Green 1.44.04 and 39th Llinos Jones 1.44.06. Well done to all those who ran it what was for a few weeks a dry race!
