Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Rhayader, Nottingham, Sheffield, Oxford, London, Llanelli, Lisbon Portugal & Cardiff.

Saturday 7th March was the Rhayader Round the Lakes 10km & 30km races. We had no runners in the 10km, but in the 30km we had two runners. In the Women’s race it was 147th Kelly Gipson finishing in 3.28.35 and in the Men Richard Sullivan was 22nd in 2.51.31.

Saturday 7th March was the 4th and final round of the UK Athletics Cross Challenge at Wollaton Park, Nottingham incorporating the UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships. In very big, very competitive competitive fields it was great to see so many of our juniors make the long trip to compete against the very best cross country runners in the UK. U13G Mollie Mae McQueen was 143rd with Emily Evans-Williams in 172nd. U13B Tomi Jones in 140th. U20W Millie Pierce was our highest placed individual of the day in 16th in her race followed home by Imogen Mcadie in 258th. U15G saw Isabelle Lawley cross the line in 43rd followed home by Zoe Thompson placing 169th and 218th Aisha Keogh. U15B had 3 finishers with 75th Oliver Cobbold, 249th Thomas Evans-Williams and 301st Isaac Mcadie. Very well done to all those who ran click here for the full results.

Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th March were the England Athletics Indoor U15 & U17 Age Group Combined Events & Junior Para Championships at Sheffield. We had two athletes in action both competing on the Saturday. U1W Tabitha Ventress-Brett was in the Pentathlon 10.00 60m Hurdles, 1.33m High Jump, 10.28m Shot, 4.51m Long Jump and a 2.34.57 800m to amass a total of 2767 points and place 18th overall, and U13G T/F 38 Sienna Allen-Chaplin competed up an age group in the para Long Jump recording two personal bests of 2.86m and a 10.53 in the 60m. Congratulations both!

Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th March was the British Masters Winter Throws Championships at Oxford, where we had two of our masters in action M65 Wyn Howe picking up a SILVER in his category with a best of 32.73m on the 600g and M70 Chris Pruski picking up GOLD in the M70 also with a 600g Javelin with a best of 27.72m, congratulations both!

Sunday 8th March James Ledger T11 Para athlete ran a 12.04 for the 100m at Lee Valley, London, well done James!

Sunday 8th March was the Llanelli 10km, Half Marathon & Full Marathon. The 10km saw two finishers with a fantastic win for Josh Griffiths getting very close to sub 30 with a 30.10 and in the Women Florence Taylor just missing out on a podium spot in 4th in 42.56. The Half Marathon saw our top 4 Men and Women home as follows, Men 13th Alex John 1.18.19, 26th Daniel Morgan 1.22.43, Dilon Rundogo 1.27.08 and new signing Dylan Strawbridge 1.29.40 the Women’s Half saw Kritsy Smith another just miss out on a podium spot in 4th 1.28.30, 18th Julie Hartley-Green 1.41.19, 28th Millie Thorne 1.43.34 and 63rd Christine Webb 1.51.10. The full Marathon saw our second great win of the day for Geraint Williams crossing the line in 2.33.11 followed home by 8th Michael Bryant in 2.43.17

Sunday 8th March was the Lisbon Half Marathon in Portugal where Tori Barry ran a 1.36.45 and Lois Woodward finished in 1.38.26, well done both.

Sunday 8th March was a Welsh Universities open meeting at Cardiff indoor track where we had two athletes in action, U23W Rebekah Pratt recorded a 4.36m Long Jump, 8.92 60m, 10.86m Shot and U23W Bethan Holley getting a best of 10.59m in the Triple Jump.
