Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Loughborough, Bath, Linlithgow, Newport,  Yate and Manchester.

Saturday 18th April was the Loughborough Open Meeting where Eli Onyewu ran a 10.76 wind assisted 100m & a 21.99 200m and Lucy Harris threw a 45.15m Discus, well done both!

Saturday 18th April was the Bristol Track Club 5km & 3km, the races are held in Bath and on the road rather than a track where plenty of our endurance athletes were in action posting some super fast times. Highlights included our fastest athlete in each distance and age group as follows U14B 10th Tomi Jones in 10.21.4 for 3km, 2nd U16B Oliver Cobbold 15.24.2 5km, 1st SM Chris Booth 15.47.3 5km, 14th U18M Osian Morgan 16.07.4 5km, 3rd U20W Beatrice Rusby 18.13.3 and 10th SW Kelcy Hooper 19.44.2 5km. Saturday 18th April Connor Rogers runs a super fast 14.37 in the Flat and Fast 5km race at Linlithgow in a high quality field that time placed him in 25th, well done Connor!

Sunday 19th April was the Newport 10km Half Marathon & Marathon held in ideal conditions. It was an awesome one two in the Men’s 10km with Dafydd Jones taking the win in 29.24, also breaking the 30 minute barrier was 2nd place Jonathan Butler in 29.56, our top 2 Women home were 33rd Luticia Thomas 41.40 and Megan Clements in 42.22 for 39th. Over the full Marathon our top 3 runners home were Men 11th Matthew Rees 2.29.43, 153rd Alex John 2.53.05 and 815th Ben Curtain 3.31.20, Women: 34th Emma Joseph 3.20.00 and 88th Millie Thorne 3.33.18. Ewan Morris was our sole runner in the Half Marathon coming home in 1.44.06 for 275th. In the Junior 1.6km races U14B Tomi Jones placed 7th in 5.11, and making her club debut U12G Ada Williams got off to a great start taking 2nd in 6.46. Sunday 19th April was the U18 & U20 Youth Development League Round 1 of 3 at Yate, It was fantastic to see such a large turnout from our junior with over 20 of them representing the club. The team put in a great result to place 3rd on the day and the highest placed Welsh team too! Thanks also to all our coaches, team managers and officials who made it such a successful day. Individual highlights included top 3 placings for:

U20M 3rd Jeremy Young 11.71 100m, 3rd Oliver Philpott 1.75m High Jump & 2nd Pole Vault 3.35m, 2nd Evan Lewis 11.20m Triple Jump, 3rd Lewie Jones 11.88m Shot & 1st Javelin 55.87m.

U20W 1st Matilda Quick 14.58 100m Hurdles & 1st High Jump 1.65m, 1st Efa Williams 8.29m Shot & 1st 27.72m Discus & 3rd  26.22m Hammer & 2nd Javelin 19.99m Javelin,

U18M 2nd Ruari Harris 11.52 100m & 2nd 23.17 200m, 1st Matthew Hines 56.62 400m Hurdles, 2nd Alfie Philpott 3.20m Pole Vault, 3rd Mandikuzda Mupita 11.40m Triple Jump, 2nd Jacob Williams, Harvey Southam, Jack Sullivan & Matthew Hines 4.02.48 4 x 400m.

U18W 3rd Lilly Mitchell 10.15m Triple Jump, 3rd Violet Snelgrove 10.63m Shot & 2nd 24.96m Discus & 3rd 30.71m Hammer and 1st Ellie Dunleavy 3.10m Pole Vault.

Sunday 19th April Michael Kallenberg has a fantastic run in the Manchester Marathon to place 12th in 2.22.26, well done Michael! Special mention must go to Tori Barry who despite taking a very heavy fall in a pothole at 19 miles, which resulted in concussion and needing medical treatment at the end of the race, shrugged it all off and did herself and her country proud representing Welsh Masters finished in 3-18-53.
