Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from London x 3, Yeovil, Cardiff & Birmingham.
Saturday 25th April was the London Mini Marathon run over the last 2.6km of the main Marathon route. It was fantastic to see four Swansea Harriers selected to represent Wales, here’s how they all got in within their own age groups, U16B Oliver Cobbold finishing 97th in 7.57, U18W Libby Hale finishing 14th in 8.42, U18W Millie Pierce in 75th in 8.59 and U16G Isabelle Lawley 154th in 9.23. Congratulations to all four on some very much deserved Welsh Vests.
Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th April was the Somerset Schools & Somerset County Combined Events & Race Walking Championships & Open at Yeovil. The main highlight of the day was U20W Matilda Quick smashing the 5000 point barrier with 5422 points to win and in the process surpassing the 5400 points standard to be considered by British Athletics for the World U20 Championships in Oregon, USA later this summer. Matilda’s total came courtesy of a 14.26 100m Hurdles, 1.74m High Jump, 12.61m Shot, 25.60 200m, 5.76m Long Jump, 32.31m Javelin and a 2.25.92 800m, congratulations Matilda, there are a number of caveats for selection which you can read here Worldu2026_Published.v3. Also in action were U14G Freya Cleverley was 8th in the Junior Girls Pentathlon with 1514 points from a 14.84 75m Hurdles, 7.21m Shot, 1.17m High Jump, 2.96m Long Jump & 2.54.95 800m, U14G Flo Newton-Thomas was 11th in the Junior Girls Pentathlon with 1169 points from a 16.27 75m Hurdles, 6.40m Shot, 1.17m High Jump, 3.28m Long Jump and 3.22.35 800m, U14G Matilda Warchal who placed 3rd in the U13G Quadrathlon with 587 points from a 14.83 100m, 5.54m Shot, 3.81m Long Jump & 2.40.16 800m, U18W Tabitha Ventress-Brett was 8th in the Heptathlon with 3555 points from a 18.00 100m Hurdles, 1.38m High Jump, 10.15m Shot, 28.28 200m, 4.26m Long Jump, 21.43m Javelin and 2.26.10 800m and SW Rebekah Pratt was 3rd in her Heptathlon with 2769 points from a 19.83 100m Hurdles, 1.23m High Jump, 10.42m Shot, 29.47 200m, 4.05m Long Jump, 28.49m Javelin and 3.11.04 800m. Sunday 26th April SW Hannah Brier runs a 11.56 for the 100m in in Lee Valley London, the 2nd fastest 100m time of the meeting, well done Hannah!
Sunday 26th April was the iconic London Marathon and an iconic race too with two runners breaking the 2 hour barrier, amongst the 59,000 starters were more than a few Swansea Harriers, here’s how the top 4 Men and Women we could find in the results got on. Men: Geraint Williams 2.28.09, Matthew Verran 2.28.52, Craig Jones 3.02.032 and Ross Axworthy 3.52.82

Sunday 26th April was the Run With The Wind Sprints Open Meeting 2 of 3 at Cardiff. The club was well represented in the older age groups, thanks to everyone who went along, highlights included our fastest athlete in each age group, event and gender as follows: SM Owain Lloyd-Hughes 10.74 100m, U18M Ruarai Harris 11.15 100m & 22.73 200m, U20M Jenson Morris 11.17 100m, U16G Somtochi Emenogu 13.26 100m. U14G Sofia Morgan 14.01 100m & 28.97 200m, SW Iona Hassanscott 14.33 100m, SM Joseph Brier 46.33 400m and SM Steffan Dylan Jones 21.94 200m, congratulations all on such super fast times, click here for the full results.
Sunday 26th April was the University Of Birmingham Open Meeting where we had two athletes in action where SW Sophia Harrison doubled up in the 800m and 3000m recording times of 2.26.19 and 10.17.12, then SM Brychan Price Davies ran a lifetime best of 8.59.23 in the 3000m, congratulations both!
