Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Swansea, Halle, Germany, Millfield, Loughborough, Barry and Neath.

Wednesday 13th May was race 1 of 3 in the Paul Popham 5km series at Swansea where our top 3 Men & Women home were, Oliver Cobbold whose still in the U16 age group crossed the line in 2nd in 16.14, 4th Sam Joseph 17.05 and 6th Dylan Strawbridge 17.49. In the Women Chloe Hartley-Green was 4th in 19.54 followed by 6th Zoe Thompson 20.23 and 10th Rosie Jones 22.26, well done all, click here for the full results.

Saturday 16th May U23M Michael Jenkins had a great throw of 57.54m to place 2nd in the Halpus Grand Prix in Halle, Germany, well done Michael!

Saturday 16th May was the British Milers Club PB Classic at Millfield where we had three runners in action u18W Olivia Morgan ran a time of 2.11.68 in the 800m for a fantastic win in the A race, U18m Osian Morgan was in the 1500m where he ran a 4.12.60 for 13th in the A race , U16G Isabelle Lawley also in the 1500m where she ran a 4.58.52 to the E race for 9th, very well done all!

Sunday 17th May was the Loughborough International where it was awesome to see five Swansea Harriers selected for Wales, Hannah Brier had yet another superb day to break her own all time Welsh & Club record in the 200m with a 23.07 setting a Commonwealth Games B standard in the process, Millie Gold was an amazing 3rd in the 3000m Steeplechase with a 10.35.61, Joseph Brier placed a brilliant 2nd in the 400m with 46.96, Lucy Harris set a lifetime best of 46.28m in the Discus, T11 Para sprinter James Ledger was 6th in the men’s ambulant 100m in 11.78,  Paralympian Harrison Walsh was competing as a guest, was 4th in the Discus with a season’s best 56.12m and Eniola Adeotun ran a 10.70 in the Guest 100m, many congratulations everyone!

Sunday 17th May was the Barry Island 10km where Jonathan Butler had a fantastic run to win the Men’s race crossing the line in 30.23, joining him on the podium in 3rd was Matthew Verran having a superb run too for a 32.17, Craig Jones was 53rd in 39.10, our first runner home in the Women was 9th Luticia Thomas in 41.29, then Millicent Fakande in 12th 41.41 who are all the Swansea Harriers we could find in the results, well done all! Sorry if we missed anyone!

Sunday 17th May was round 1 of 3 in the Welsh U12 U14 & U16 League West Division at Neath, in overcast and windy conditions it was awesome to see over 150 athletes out representing the club. Our thanks to all the volunteers who made the day possible whether that be officiating, team managing or undertaking any other task. The team had a great day to win round 1, the league table is shown in the image below. It is impossible to mention all our athletes, but here is who were our top performer in each age group and event:
