Saturday 11th July was round 2 of 3 in the Premiership of the National Athletics League for the top eight track & field club teams in the UK, held at Woodford, London. The team made the long journey Friday evening in the very hot weather conditions. It was a very tough day at the office with many athletes unavailable to compete for their club, we were unable to cover all the events, which at this level of club athletics you can’t get away with. Sadly the team were last by some distance and will need a miracle in round 3 to avoid relegation. Nevertheless those that did compete made fantastic efforts on the day covering several events each. Individual highlights included top 3 placings overall for:
- Men: 1st Michael Jenkins 57.52m Discus, 2nd Eniola Adedotun 10.92 100m, 2nd Samuel Davies 2.14m High Jump,
- Women: 1st Hannah Brier 52.23 400m which was a lifetime best an all time club record, many congratulations Hannah, showing what a talent we know she is, plus the strength of character and resilience she has, no matter what challenges are thrown her way!
Thanks again to all our athletes who made the effort to support their club, along with our team managers, officials and coaches. Click here for the full results.
