Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Gloucester, Merthyr Mawr, Cardiff, Belfast, London x 3 and Aberdare.
Wednesday 15th July at the Gloucester Open meeting, SM Taylor Proberts throws a 36.90m in the Hammer, SW Alice Gregory a 33.49m in the Hammer and Chris Lloyd clear a best of 1.67m in the High Jump, well done all!
Saturday 18th July was the Rabbit Run 12km & 40km Multi Terrain Races at Merthyr Mawr. In the 12km there was a fantastic win for Daniel May in 49.50 and we had 4 runners in the Women’s race with Catrin Davies having a great run for 7th in both the tough heat and underfoot multi terrain conditions crossing the line in 1.03.44, she was followed home by 25th Ella Titley 1.12.28, 65th Sue Peters 1.21.27 and 330th Sibohan Mcnair 1.52.53. Over the Marathon we had one finisher with Simon Coombes crossing in 5.35.23. Well done everyone!
Saturday 18th July was the U14 & U16 Youth Development League Round 3 of 3 at Cardiff. The team placed 5th on the day matching their final league placing of 5th of the seven teams. Thank you to all the athletes, team managers, officials and coaches who have contributed to the team over the three fixtures, your support is much appreciated. Individual highlights at Cardiff included top 3 placings in the A string and wins in the B string for:
- U16B Ren Leech-Griffiths 3.10m Pole Vault, Evan Briggs 2.20m Pole Vault.
- U16G Katriel Udoh 44.44 300m Hurdles & 1.65m High Jump, Lyla Jonsson 2.30.62 800m, Isabelle Lawley 5.01.89 1500m, Rutendo Chasweka 4.92m Long Jump, Elizabeth Nsozzi 1.50m High Jump, Sarai Cox 9.83m Shot, Jessica Pollard 22.63m Hammer, Poppy-may Burgin, Somtochi Eemenogu Lucy Li & Rutendo Chasweka 50.78 4 x 100m.
- U14B Glorious Khunda 12.20 100m, Tomi Jones 4.31.15 800m, Theo Lewis-Wright 2.20m Pole Vault, Dhruv Mummigatti 9.01m Shot.
- U14G Lily Shubin 11.85 75m Hurdles & 2.50m Pole Vault, Olive Knutson-Watson 5.30.10 1500m, Etta Blatchford 4.49m Long Jump, Mari Chowdry 4.25m Long Jump, Flo Newton-Thomas 18.77m Discus, Mali Cronin 19.32m Javelin and Sofia Morgan, Lily Shubin, Mia Puntan & Mari Chowdry 54.09 4 x 100m.

Saturday 18th July was the Schools (SIAB) Ireland V England V Scotland V Wales Track & Field International at Belfast. Despite the epic long journey by bus and ferry Ellie Dunleavy won a magnificent BRONZE with a 3.11m in the Pole Vault, Roman Jackson threw a 36.73m Hammer for 8th and a 28.25m Discus for 7th and Oliver Cobbold 8.58.37 3000m for 8th. Very well done to all three on such deserved international call ups. We understand that the SIAB Board will now finally comply with the new UK Athletics age group rules and 2027 will see the track & field international held in Scotland in the U18 age category.
Saturday 18th July was the Novuna London Athletics Meet & Wanda Diamond League where Eniloa Adeotun was one quarter of a Wales 4 x 100m relay team crossing the line in 40.12 which was an expected surprise for a few reasons, well done Eniola!
Sunday 19th July Marek Wazrocha runs a wind assisted 10.77 for the 100m, well done Marek!
Sunday 19th July U23W Bethan Holley leaps out to a 10.82m Triple Jump at the Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers Open in Hendon, London, well done Bethan!
Tuesday 21st July was the British Milers Club 2 of 3 at Aberdare and the South Wales Throws Open. Our overall top performer in each age group and event on the evening were:
- Javelin U20W Matilda Quick 30.52m & M70 Chris Pruski 28.73m.
- 400m U20M Oskar Radka 1.00.11, U18W Olivia Morgan 1.00.86 & U23W Evie Aitchison 1.01.05.
- 800m U18M Jack Sullivan 2.09.92, U14B Lewis Li 2.33.33, W40 Bethan Froome 2.34.94 & U14G Sofie Cottrell 2.48.87.
- 1500m U16B Oliver Cobbold 4.16.40, U18W Millie Pierce 4.33.82 & U14B Tomi Jones 4.35.78.
