Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Liverpool, Cleveland & Coral Gables USA, Merthyr Tydfil & Cardiff.

Saturday 25th March saw the cross country season come to a conclusion with the U15 & U17 British Schools Cross Country International at Sefton Park in Liverpool. The club was well represented with four of our girls being selected for the Welsh Schools team V Scottish, English & Irish Schools. In the Junior Girls Holly Humphreys 7th, Libby Hale 23rd & Chloe Hartley-Green all had fantastic runs to help the team to a BRONZE medal and in the Middle Boys & Girls mixed relay Ava Davies helped the team to a 4th place finish.  Very many congratulations to all four on such well deserved international call ups against the very best juniors in the UK, the day was a fantastic developmental experience for them all!

Saturday 25th March saw SM Domonic Smith run a quick 15.24.09 for 5000m in Cleveland, USA, well done Domonic!

Saturday 25th March Steffan Jones runs a wind assisted 22.18 for 200m and a 48.89 400m in Coral Gables, Florida USA, well done Steffan!

Sunday 26th March was the Merthyr Tydfil Half Marathon where we had two runners, first home in a brilliant BRONZE medal position was Simon Lewis in 1.16.15 and not too far behind was 6th Daniel Newton in 1.18.45, well done both on such great times!

Sunday 26th March was the Cardiff Bay 10km where we were well represented with 15 finishers, where our top five Men and Women home were:

Men: SILVER in another sub 30 time of 29.58 was Dewi Griffiths, followed home by 7th Jonathan Butler 30.27; 16th  Luca Cortellese 31.40; 23rd Matthew Rees 32.21 and 26th Matthew Harvey 32.40.

Women: first home was Sioned Howells 36.08 in 10th followed by; 14th Hannah Williams 37.40; 21st Sophie Hartley-Green 39.38 just over 5 minutes ahead of mum; 30th Megan Clements 40.41 and 103rd Julie Hartley-Green in 46.55.
