Results Round Up Thursday 13th May

Saturday 1st May saw Joseph Brier gain his second Great Britain & Northern Ireland cap in relays this year, this time in the World Athletics Relays at Selisa, Poland. Unfortunately things didn’t go quite as smoothly as last time, after an unfortunate fall on one of the changeovers, nevertheless Joseph ran a great opening leg to help the team to 5th place in a time of 3:10:63 behind, Botswana, Poland, Italy & Germany.

Saturday 1st May was the first of 3 open meetings to be held by Yeovil Olympiads this summer. At Yeovil SW Bethany Kennedy set a fast time of 56.54 for 400m; SM Jack Houghton ran the 110m Hurdles in 16.56 and 57.09 for 400m Hurdles; U15B Lewie Jones threw 12.98m in the Shot and 37.93m in the Discus; U17W Katie Lake threw 26:10m in the discus too, with team mate Lucy Harris threw 23:95m Discus and a 29.26m Javelin.

Saturday 1st May at Nuneaton U20W Carys Poole runs 28.43 for 200m and clears a height of 1.50m in the High Jump; SM Steffan Jones runs 48.80 for 400m; SM Rhys Granville sets a time of 51.87 for 400m and his sister and womens team captain Caryl Granville runs 14.12 for the 100m Hurdles.

Saturday 1st May was the Welsh Athletics Endurance only open meeting at Newport where the club was well represented recording times of: 3000m SW Megan Carter-Davies 10.23.01; U20W Ashleigh Willis 10.29.64; SM Daniel Morgan 10.42.71 and U15G Sophie Hartley-Green 11.53.01; 1500m U17M Charlie Harris 4.27.07 and U17W Ella Davies 5.01.70; U15G Ava Davies 5:10.47; 800m U17W Mai Davies 2.29.76.

Sunday 2nd May SM Joshua Griffiths sets a time of 29.45 for 10km at the Speedway 10km at Chepstow just a couple of weeks after a tough Olympic Marathon trial race.

Wednesday 5th May was the Welsh Athletics open meeting at Cardiff, where in very cool weather conditions SW Jodi Beynon threw 10.99m in the Shot; SW Lauryn Davey threw a 9.80m Shot and runs a 15.24 100m Hurdles; SM Jack Houghton runs 16.30 for the 110m Hurdles; in the 100m SM Lemarl Freckleton was our quickest with a time of 10.97 followed by SM Steffan Jones 11.12 and SW Hannah Brier 12.06. Over the 200m distance Daniel Beadsley runs 21.28 and SM Steffan Jones 21.99 in his second race of the meeting.
