Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Swansea x 3, Birmingham, Caerphilly, Houston Texas USA, Belfast, Manchester, Yeovil and Glenshee Scotland, including our second all time club record of 2024.
Tuesday 7th May was the U15, U17 & U20 Afan Nedd Tawe Schools Championships at Swansea where hundreds of pupils were representing their school teams, highlights included wins for:
U15G Carys Pritchard 11.7 75m Hurdles and a new RECORD & 27.5 200m & 9.42m Triple Jump, Taylor Shelmerdine 12.4 100m and a new RECORD & 42.0 300m and another new RECORD & 4.52m Long Jump, Hannah Jones 2.34.4 800m, Lyla Jonsson 5.24.1 1500m, Tabitha Ventress-Brett 21.55m Discus, Millie Jayham 1.35m High Jump, Lauren Oshisanya 8.65m Shot, Georgie Bo Davies 2.70m Pole Vault, and Belle Thomas 20.55m Hammer.
U15B Joseph Crocker 12.8 80m Hurdles & 5.41m Long Jump, Osian Morgan 4.44.3 1500m and Alfie Philpott 2.50m Pole Vault.

Wednesday 8th May U20M Lewie Jones throws an impressive 55.74m for the Javelin In Birmingham, well done Lewie!
Wednesday 8th May SW Carys Jones gets to within 1cm of her lifetime best with a 3.91m Pole Vault at Sport City, Manchester, congratulations Carys!
Wednesday 8th May was round 1 of 3 in the Paul Popham Summer 5km series at Swansea there were 163 finishers of which 26 were from Swansea Harriers, our top 5 men and women home were:
Men: Having a great run to step onto the podium were 2nd Craig Seaman 16.08 and 3rd Sam Joseph 16.30 followed home by; 10th Anthony Jones 17.35; 12th Jack Sullivan 17.49 and 14th Alan Davies 17.59.
Women: It was a clean sweep of the podium places with 1st Chloe Hartley-Green 18.54, 2nd Sophie Hartley-Green 19.33 and 3rd Llinos Jones 19.42 our 4th & 5th runners home were 6th Lyla Jonsson 20.11 and 9th Kristy Smith 20.22.

Thursday 9th May SW Sofia Harrison runs 41.32.16 for 10,00m on track at Houston Texas, USA, well done Sofia!
Saturday 11th May Hannah Brier in her second year at the 400m beat our all time club record of Laura Maddox 52.73 from 2014, setting a time of 52.25 taking her from 10th to 4th on the all time Welsh Rankings too at Belfast, very many congratulations Hannah on this phenomenal time!
Saturday 11th May Kristian Jones was the first Welsh finisher at the Senior Home Countries Mountain International in Glenshee, Scotland, where he won the SILVER medal in the men’s race in 32:34. Kris is a multiple Wales and Great Britain international across a number of running disciplines, congratulations Kris on yet another well deserved International call up!
Saturday 11th May U20M Evan Morris runs 11.31 for 100m in Yeovil, well done Evan!
Sunday 12th May was the Caerphilly 10km incorporating the Welsh Athletics 10km series. Dewi Griffiths kept up his recent form with another fine win coming home in a super fast 29.13, Jonathan Butler had a great run too joining him on the podium in 3rd with 31.34, Ben Williams was 14th in 34.44, well done to all three of our runners!
Sunday 12th May was the West Wales U13, U15, U17, U20 & Senior Championships at Swansea, firstly thank you to all the volunteers from all clubs who made the possible there were 60+ of them sacrificing their Saturday so the athletes could compete. With 139 athletes from Swansea Harriers entered which was an absolutely fantastic turnout, we won’t be able to highlight every single medallist as there were an awful lot if the, here are your event winners and Championship record breakers:
U13G Lily Shubin 3.90m Long Jump & 1.75m Pole Vault, Katriel Udoh 13.57 100m and 1.45m High Jump and a equal Championship RECORD, Sofia Morgan 12.66m Discus and Sophie Davis 13.15 70m Hurdles.
U13B Eliott Lloyd 1.95m Pole Vault, Dylan Wakley 6.39.40 1000m Walk and a new Championship RECORD, Bo Cuthbertson 13.62 100m, Efan Williams 3.81m Long Jump & 18.11m Javelin, Tomos Pugh 29.97 200m and Oliver Cobbold 5.00.09 1500m.
