Good Luck To Harrison Walsh at the Commonwealth Games

Congratulations and the very best of luck to Harrison Walsh who competes at 8.25pm in the Men’s para Discus throw final on Wednesday 29th July in the Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. Harrison now gets added again to our Hall Of Fame for Swansea Harriers who have competed at Olympic Games, World Athletics Championships, European Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Harrison has become one of Wales’ most inspiring athletes, overcoming the disappointment of a career-ending rugby injury to establish himself among the world’s leading para throwers. After being told he may never play rugby again following a serious knee injury while with Swansea RFC, he turned to athletics and has never looked back. A Commonwealth Games bronze medallist from Birmingham 2022, he has since added World and European bronze medals to his growing collection and represented Great Britain at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Harrison is also representing Wales as Team Wales Athletics captain in Glasgow!

Harrison competes in the F45-46 category (Upper limb/s affected by limb deficiency, impaired  muscle power or impaired passive range of movement). Harrison has been a club member since 2017 and is a former Oystermouth Primary School and Bishop Gore Secondary School pupil.
