Saturday 9th August Final Timetable Evans Family Open Meeting

Saturday 9th August Final Timetable Evans Family Open Meeting has been adjusted to fit the number of entries in each event, and is now available to VIEW HERE. Entries have also been reopened, but only for the events where there are spaces ENTER ONLINE HERE.

The Evans Family Open Meeting, held in the memory of Gwilym & Pat Evans two long serving volunteers of the club whose son and grand children also competed for us. Athletes are allowed to enter a maximum of 3 events. Entry fee is £5 per event. No refunds will be given if athletes withdraw before or on the day.

Event Information:

  • U11 Boys & Girls = School Years 5: 75m, 150m, 800m, Long Jump & Shot.
  • U13 Boys & Girls = School Years 6 & 7: 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 70m Hurdles (U13G), 75m Hurdles (U13B), High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin. Note that U13 cannot compete in both 800m & 1500m on the same day (UK Athletics rules).
  • U15 Boys & Girls = School Years 8 & 9: 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 75m Hurdles (U15G), 80m Hurdles (U15B), High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Hammer, Javelin. Note that U15 cannot compete in both 800m & 1500m on the same day (UK Athletics rules).
  • U17 Men & Women = School Years 10 & 11: 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 80m Hurdles (U17W) / 100m Hurdles (U17M), 300m Hurdles/400m Hurdles, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot, Discus, Hammer and Javelin.
  • U20 Men & Women = School Years 12, 13 & 14: 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 100m Hurdles (U20W) / 110m Hurdles (U20M), 400m Hurdles, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot, Discus, Hammer and Javelin.
  • Senior Men & Senior Women:- 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 100m Hurdles (SW) / 110m Hurdles (SM), 400m Hurdles, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot, Discus, Hammer and Javelin.
  • We need plenty of parents to assist our Swansea Harriers team of very dedicated volunteer officials that help the club fulfil its commitments in all its league, cup and championship fixtures on and off track throughout the year. Rob Beresford is the clubs officials coordinator and is the main point of contact for any new volunteer officials and all our existing officials.   • All athletes will need to sign in to collect their numbers and pins at least 1 hour before their first event, registration will be outside the white pavilion by the 100m start line.
  • Athletes will report directly to the event site – track events 10 minutes and field events 20 minutes before event start time for warm up (30 minutes for pole vault)
  • Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot, Discus, Javelin & Hammer: three trials for under 11 to under 15 athletes, four trials for under 17, under 20 and seniors.
  • If an athlete has a track event and a field event timetabled at the same time, please sign in at the field event before competing in the track event. Athletes can return to the field to complete trials if time allows. High Jump and Pole Vault athletes will need to re-join the event at whatever height the bar has increased to.
  • Refreshments will be on sale in the café next to the Indoor track entrance
  • Parent volunteers will be required to help with an event that their child is competing in, supporting the qualified officials
    with simple tasks such as raking the pit and replacing the bar. Please offer your assistance if there is a call out.
  • Those attending this weekend’s athletics event can park at the Singleton Hospital Staff Car Park, shown on the map below and is free of charge.
