West Wales Indoor Athletics Championships @ Swansea

The 2026 West Wales Indoor Athletics Championships will take place at Swansea over two days, Saturday 31st January and Saturday 14th February. This is a closed championship for West Wales eligible athletes only (held under UKA rules). All jumps events (Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump and Pole Vault) will take place on Day 1 with Shot Put, 60m and 60m Hurdles on the second Saturday. The championship are open to all age groups – from the under 11’s to seniors and is for all athletes of all abilities.

VOLUNTEERS:

For the championships to be successful we will need plenty of volunteers as usual please. Any available UKA qualified officials should email our West Wales officials coordinator Gareth Harries directly [email protected] . Any other volunteers that can help raking sand pits, replacing high jump & pole vault bars, handing out numbers & pins at registration or collecting shot puts please email [email protected] . ELIGIBILITY:

To participate in the West Wales championships all athletes must be registered to their club & Welsh Athletics, in addition must have one of the following qualifications:

A: – BIRTH; the athlete having been born in West Wales (Dyfed or West Glamorgan).

B: – RESIDENCE; a minimum of 9 months continuous residence in West Wales immediately prior to this event.

AGE GROUPS & EVENTS:

U11 Boys & Girls = School Years 4 & 5 (60m, Long Jump, Shot)

U13 Boys & Girls = School Years 6 & 7 (60m, 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot)

U15 Boys & Girls = School Years 8 & 9 (60m, 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot)

U17 Men & Women = School Years 10 & 11 (60m, 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot)

U20 Men & Women = School Years 12 & 13 (60m, 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot)

Senior Men & Women (60m, 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot)
