Somerset Schools & Somerset County Combined Events & Race Walking Championships & Open @ Yeovil

The Championships will be held at THE BILL WHISTLECROFT ATHLETICS ARENA, YEOVIL, BA21 3DS on Saturday 25 April and Sunday 26 April. The Under-13 Boys’ Quadrathlon and the Junior Boys’ (Years 8 & 9) Pentathlons will take place on the Saturday, with the Under-13 Girls’ Quadrathlon and the Junior Girls’ (Years 8 & 9) Pentathlons taking place on the Sunday. All the Race Walks will take place on the Sunday.
The meeting will commence at 10.30am on each day, and a detailed timetable will be sent to all competing schools and clubs once entries have closed and the programme has been compiled. Full details will appear on the SSAA website.
The age groups basically correspond to school years, and these are:
Year 7 (Under-13 on 1.9.26) – Under-13 Boys and Under-13 Girls (Quadrathlons).
Years 8 and 9 (Under-14 or Under-15 on 1.9.26) – Junior Boys and Junior Girls (Pentathlons). Separate Pentathlons for Year 8 and Year 9 due to different Hurdles specifications.
Years 10 and 11 (Under-16 or Under-17 on 1.9.26) – Intermediate Boys (Octathlon) and Intermediate Girls (Heptathlon). Separate competitions for Year 10 and Year 11 due to different Hurdles specifications.
Years 12 and 13 (Under-19 on 1.9.26) – Senior Boys (Decathlon) and Senior Girls (Heptathlon). Separate competitions for Year 12 and Year 13 due to different Hurdles specifications.
NB: Under-18 Decathlon and Heptathlon competitions will be offered for athletes born in 2009 or 2010.
NB: Under-20 Decathlon and Heptathlon competitions will be offered for athletes Under-20 on 31 December 2026.
Senior Men (Decathlon) and Senior Women (Heptathlon).
