Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from the Seniors National Athletics League in Yate, plenty of medals from the England (UK) U15 & U17 Championships and Hallsberg, Sweden.

Saturday 7th August was round 4 of 4 for our Senior Men & Women in the National Athletics League at Yate, where despite fielding a depleted team due to athlete unavailability they still pulled off a great result to finish 2nd just behind Bristol & West, once the results are in from the other four areas the league tables will be updated. Our thanks to all the team managers, officials and Yate AC for making the event possible, here is how the squad all got on:

Men: Charlie Holland 50.51 400m and won the A string; Brychan Price Davies 2.00.78 800m winning the A; Charlie Harris 2.12.47 800m; Daniel Morgan 10.26.18 3000m & 11.29.60 3000m Steeplechase; Jack Houghton won both the 110m Hurdles & 400m Hurdle A strings in 17.41 & 56.42 respectively & 10.00m Triple Jump; Owain Clarke 62.00 400m Hurdles; Thomas Walley 1.82m High Jump & 4.52m Pole Vault winning the A string and also won the Long Jump A with 6.81m; Ceirion Hopkins 6.55m Long Jump; Ryan Price 11.65m Triple Jump; Patrick Swan 17.32m Shot winning the A; Daniel Cork 16.32m Shot; Peter Roberts 33.29m Discus & 25.43m Hammer; David Jones 11.66m Hammer; Aaron Morgan 55.96m Javelin to win the A and Nathan James 52.03m Javelin.

Women: Hannah Brier 11.34 100m, would have been all time Welsh & Club record if it had not been for an illegal following wind!; Jodi Beynon 26.00 200m & 14.79 100m Hurdles; Emily Jenkinson 2.23.35 800m; Bronwen Stratton-Thomas 2.31.86 800m; Megan Carter-Davies 4.49.97 1500m & 10.14.44 3000m; Kate Roberts 10.09.18 3000m; Lauryn Davey 14.75 100m Hurdles & 5.78m to win the A & 11.17m Shot & 36.32m Javelin; Gabrielle Garcia 77.34 400m Hurdles; Olivia Gwynn 6.56.28 2000m Steeplechase; Millie Carter 3.32m Pole Vault winning the A; ; Jamie Holland 11.58m Shot to win the A string & 22.53m Discus & 30.59m Javelin; Lara Spacey 17.32m Discus & 39.60m Hammer and Cassey Grimwade 45.52m Hammer.

The weekend of Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th August was the England (UK) U15 & U17 Athletics Championships held at Manchester. The club had just the three athletes enter this year who had achieved the entry standards. In very poor weather conditions U17M William Trott was the only athlete to clear a height in Pole Vault and came away with the GOLD medal in 3.71m well done William; the weather deteriorated so much that by the time U15G Amy Beynon was ready to vault her event was cancelled! U15B Lewie Jones had a very busy and successful weekend competing in 3 throws coming away with a medal in all three, well done Lewie! 13.23m Shot for BRONZE, 41.00m Discus for GOLD and 50.52m Javelin for SILVER!!!

Saturday 7th August U17W Hannah Kinane set another very fast time for 800m in Hallsberg Sweden recording a time of 2.11.48, well done Hannah!
