Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Birmingham, Highgate, Brittany France, Cardiff, Loughborough & Gloucester.
Wednesday 15th May was the University of Birmingham open meeting where SM Morgan James ran 4.00.62 for 1500m, U20M Lewie Jones threw 64.60m in the Javelin and M65 Chris Pruski 30.44m also in the Javelin, well done everyone!
Saturday 18th May was the Night Of 10,000m PB’s at Highgate London. In the Junior races U17W Libby Hale ran a fast 2.11.58 for 800m to place 4th, SM Paul Tobin came home in 7th in his 10,000m with a 30.50.94 and in the main Women’s championship race SW Verity Ockenden against a field of very talented overseas and UK runners came home in a great 16th and 5th Briton with a time of 32.01.70, well done all on such super fast times!
Sunday 19th May in the 26km Trail de Guerledan, Brittany, France multi terrain race Joshua Griffiths was representing Wales where in very tough underfoot conditions he had a great run to place 8th and help Wales win the team title, congratulations Josh!
Sunday 19th May was the Gorseinon 10km in hot and sunny conditions over an undulating course our top five Men and Women home were. Men: 12th Daniel Morgan 36.34, 57th Daniel Thomas 43.01, 75th Hywel Longman 44.23, 87th David Rees 45.01 and 100th Nicholas De Vos 46.02.
Women: 12th Kristy Smith 43.29, 19th Audrey Ailes 45.39, 23rd Jennifer Roberts 46.59, 27th Julie Hartley-Green 47.48 and 30th Lois Woodward 48.47.

Sunday 19th May was the Cardiff Bay 10km which was equally hot and sunny we had seven finishers, Dewi Griffiths had another great sub 30 run to step onto the podium in third with a 28.53, followed home by 13th Matthew Verran 33.04, 24th Michael Bryant 34.37, 48th Sam Joseph 36.03, 103rd Steven Taylor 38.32 and 149th Simon Coombes 40.08. In the Womens race Gemma Tutton had a superb run to come home 6th in 38.01, well done everyone!
Sunday 19th May was the annual Loughborough International where it was fantastic to see six Swansea Harriers pick up Welsh Senior Vests. The hosts Loughborough University take on teams representing England, Wales, Scotland, GB & Northern Ireland Under-20s and the National Athletics League. Here is how they all got on: SW Lauryn Davey 2nd 14.62 100m Hurdles, Carys Jones 3.85m Pole Vault, Lucy Harris 45.39m Discus, Samuel Davies 1.99m High Jump, William Hawker 41.77 4 x 100m and Hannah Brier 23.86 200m. Congratulations all on such a well deserved set of international Welsh Vests!
Sunday 19th May was the U13 & U15 Youth Development League Round 2 of 3 South/West Premiership at Gloucester.
The team placed 5th on the day, just two points behind 4th and now lie in a precarious 5th in the league. Thanks to all those athletes, coaches, officials and team managers who turned out for the club who all performed magnificently, with a bigger turnout from the boys in the final match we have every chance of staying in the league. Individual highlights included top three A string placings for:
U15B 1st Alfie Philpott 2.78m Pole Vault, 3rd Ioan Jones 8.33m Shot, 3rd Jacob Davies 18.11m Discus and 3rd Roman Jackson 29.29m Hammer.
U15G 1st Taylor Shelmerdine 41.7 300m, 3rd Hannah Jones 5.19.1 1500m, 2nd Carys Pritchard 12.7 75m Hurdles, 1st Rutendo Chasweka 5.03m Long Jump, 1st Freya Birt 2.55m Pole Vault, 1st Lauren Oshisanya 8.77m Shot, 1st Tabitha Ventress-Brett 22.05m Discus, 3rd Rutendo Chasweka, Carys Pritchard, Gwenllian Jones & Taylor Shelmerdine 52.3 4 x 100m, 3rd Hannah Jones, Darcy Gibbon, Lucy Li & Tabitha Ventress-Brett 3.05.4 4 x 300m.

U13G 1st Katriel Udoh 10.0 75m & 5.43m Long Jump which was an all time league record, congratulations Katriel!!! 3rd Poppy Brannigan 1.30m High Jump, 1st Somtochi Emenogu 7.59m Shot, 1st Sophie Davis, Katriel Udoh, Sarai Cox & Somtochi Emenogu 55.3 4 x 100m.
