Tuesday 29th July saw Harrison Walsh not only captain Wales in the Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, but place a magnificent 5th in Men’s F44 Discus throwing a season best of 54.33m. Everyone is immensely proud of Harrison and his achievements, you can read more about him here. How come he didn’t get the bronze medal, despite having the third longest throw of the competition you may ask? This is because in para athletics, Raza Points are a scoring system used to compare performances by athletes in different disability classifications. Instead of comparing only raw times, distances, or heights, the performance is converted into a points score that accounts for the athlete’s classification.
