Plenty of results to round up for you again this week from Exeter, Nuneaton x 2, Birmingham, Swansea x 2, Oordegem Belgium and Yate:

Back on Sunday 16th May SW Charlotte Campion jumps 4.47m in the Long Jump at Exeter, well done Charlotte!

Wednesday 2nd June at Nuneaton SW Hannah Brier runs 11.78 for the 100m and SM Daniel Beadsley runs a very impressive lifetime best of 10.48 only 6 hundredths away from our club record, well done both!

Wednesday 2nd June was a closed pole vault event to club members only where eleven of our pole vaulters were in action indoors with the following vaults achieved: U17M William Trott 4.00m; M55 Glyn Price 3.70m; U20M Noah Osborne 3.50m; U17M Harry Newton 3.40m; U17W Millie Carter 3.20m; U17M Dafydd King 3.00m; U17M Joseff Lewis 2.90m; U17M Jeremy Andrews 2.90m; U15G Amy Beynon 2.50m; U15B Charlie Shuall 2.50m & U15B Louis Shuall 1.90m. Well done to them all!

Saturday 5th June was the European Cup & British Olympic Trials for 10,000m held at Birmingham, it was great to see both SW Verity Ockenden & SM Kristian Jones selected to represent the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team after some great recent performances. On the night their seasons got even better with both setting lifetime bests, Verity also broke the all time club record with a run of 31:43.70 and Kristian bagged himself a Commonwealth Games A standard with a time of 28:23.50. Very many congratulations to you both on such a great nights work!

Saturday 5th June saw round 1 of the U13 & U15 Youth Development league match at home in Swansea. What an undertaking to get this match on, a rainforest or two later of risk assessments and Covid 19 protocols we eventually manged to get an event on for juniors, first and foremost our sincerest thanks to all those volunteers who made the day possible (team managers, Covid Marshalls, St Johns first aid, university track staff & officials) it really is appreciated.  In the competition arena it was great day for the team who won the match with 266 points to 2nd Cardiff AAC 161, 3rd  Neath Harriers 157.5 and 4th South Wales composite team 153.5. The superstar teams were:

Saturday 5th June SM Joseph Brier ran another scintillating 400m of 45.94 at Oordegem Belgium to win his race in the Flanders Cup Meeting, well done Joseph!

Sunday 6th May M65 Chris Pruski threw 28.77m in the Midlands Masters Championships in Nuneaton, well done Chris!

Sunday 6th May at Yate saw our combined senior men and womens team compete in the first round of the newly formatted National Senior League. Just as the juniors on Saturday they got their season off to  a great start V Cardiff V Bristol V Yate. Our thanks not only to all those athletes who participated for the team but to Yate for hosting and to all the officials who made the event possible, the winning team with plenty of lifetime bests and event victories in the A &B strings was:

Women: Risqat Fabunmi-Alade 11.97 100m & 24.28 200m winning both races; Caitlyn Mapps 11.92 100m & 24.08 200m also doing the sprint double!; Olivia Caesar winning the 400m in 55.1; Millie Fakande 60.32 400m; Emily Jenkinson 2.18.35 800m; Jodi Beynon had a very busy day winning the B 100m Hurdles in 14.82 & a 1.55m High Jump & a 5.44m Long Jump & a 21.65m Javelin; Caryl Granville 57.35 for the 400m Hurdles win and 13.64 100m Hurdles; Emily Collins making her senior team debut 1:40.90 400m Hurdles & a 28.51m Hammer throw; Carys Jones 3.60m Pole Vault; Lauryn Davey had a very busy day too with a 5.44m Long Jump & 10.86m Triple Jump & 10.90m Shot to win the B string & 32.87m Javelin; Beca Roberts 11.33m Triple Jump and Jamie Holland also making her senior team debut threw a 11.48m Shot & 22.87m Discus; Cassey Grimwade 24.55m Discus.

Men: Daniel Beadsley 10.5 100m & Lemarl Freckleton 10.91 100m & 21.59 200m; Ceirion Hopkins 23.36 200m & 6.48m Long Jump; Steffan Dylan Jones 48.19 400m;  Guy Smith 1.54.59 winning the 800m; Paul Tobin winning the B string 800m in 1.59.16; Jack Houghton 55.2 400m Hurdles & 12.29m Triple Jump; Iwan Beggs 1.70m High Jump; Addam Bowling 1.70m High Jump making his debut for the senior team; Thomas Walley winning the Pole Vault with 4.91m winning the B string was club stalwart Glyn Price with a leap of 3.50m & a 15.23m Hammer throw; Aled Price won the B string Long Jump in 6.46m; Osaze Aghedo 14.54m Triple Jump; there were another two wins in the Mens Shot with Daniel Cork throw of 17.08m for the A and Patrick Swan 16.57m in the B & a 44.10m Discus; Peter Roberts our other club stalwart with Glyn won the B discus with a throw of 32.22m & a 28.29m Hammer throw; Nathan James won the A Javelin with a 57.28m throw and Connor Swan made it a Javelin double with a 49.01m to win the B string.
