Results Round Up

Despite very disappointingly the outdoor track still being closed to all users, what was meant to be about three days has taken over 3 weeks and counting!

But this week we still have results to round up for you from Portsmouth, Bristol, Yeovil, Loughborough, Swansea, London, Neath, Plymouth Kettering & Horspath, including another all time club record!

Saturday 13th May SW Cerys Thomas throws a 50.43m Hammer at Portsmouth, well done Cerys!

Sunday 14th May in the Bristol Half Marathon SW Megan Clements runs a 96.40 PB and SW Florence Taylor also comes away with a PB 1.50.32, well done both!

Sunday 14th May SW Gwennan Lewis throws a 10.80m Shot a Yeovil, well done Gwennan!

Wednesday 17th May SM Karl Williams runs 11.33 for the 100m at Loughborough, well done Karl!

Saturday 20th May was the Swansea Epic Trail 10K in Penllegaer Valley Woods where we had seven runners in action, first home was Thomas Morris in 11th in a time of 44.35 followed home by Mia Loney who stepped onto the podium having a great run as 3rd Woman overall in 47.14; 42nd Heath Brett 49.35; 102nd Kris Heaven 55.23 and 136th Natalie Coughlan 58.47 and 1st Junior Woman! Well done everyone over a hot and hilly course!

Saturday 20th May was the Night of 10000m PBs at Parliament Hill London, where across several races of most of the very best UK endurance runners and many other World Class athletes in the elite Womens race Verity Ockenden ran a super quick 32.34.16 to finish 17th and in the second of the Mens races Matthew Rees finishes 25th in a PB of 31.18.38 and 32nd Morgan James in 32.38.01, well done to all three on such great performances!

Sunday 21st May was the Loughborough International where we had four of our members selected to represent Wales V GBU23 V GBU20 V GBU18 V Scotland V Loughborough University V England! Hannah Brier ran the 200m in 24.18 to place 5th and helped the 4 x 400m relay to 2nd place, SM Joseph Brier was in the 4x 400m too where the team placed 5th; Caryl Granville ran a 63.76 for the 400m Hurdles to place 7th and U20M Samuel Davies competing against Seniors place 10th in the High Jump with a 1.95m!

We also had some guest athletes participating too; SM Leon Greenwood 11.10 100m; SM Ben Paris 11.26 100m; SM Danylo Danylenko 47.47 400m and SM Jack Houghton 56.68 400m Hurdles. Very well done to them all especially those getting called up for the Wales team a superb achievement!

Sunday 21st May was round 1 of the Welsh Junior League in Neath where the club was very well represented, there were plenty of season and personal bests set with many of our juniors having a go at athletics competition for the very first time. Highlights included our overall top performer in each age group and event as follows:

Sunday 21st May was the Devon Open Meeting at Plymouth where SW Bronwen Stratton-Thomas ran a 2.25.22 for 800m & SW Zoe Dakin threw a 44.66m in the Hammer, well done both!

Tuesday 23rd May SM 100m club record holder Daniel Beadsley runs a 10.70 for 100m at Kettering, well done Daniel!

Wednesday 24th May U15G Libby Hale ran in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Midweek Open where she broke her own all time club record for U15 800m recording a time of 2.10.8, adding this to her 1500m record too this season, well done Libby on another amazing run!
