Sunday 1st December was a big day for the club hosting two fixtures just a couple of hundred meters apart both commencing at 11am. Very many thanks to all the volunteers who supported the events to make them happen, some who supported both, looking after the needs of 500+ athletes was a major undertaking by the club!

There was just the one key fixture last weekend on Saturday 23rd, held in Liverpool was the British Cross Challenge Round 2 incorporating the trial for the European Cross County Championships, in Belgrade SERBIA where Great Britain & Northern Ireland will be taking teams in the U20, U23 & Senior age groups.

Back on Sunday 10th November was round 2 of 5 in the Gwent Cross Country League at Bridgend and there was a very big turnout from the club which was great to see, we are still waiting for the results of the junior races, however in the seniors the individuals and teams continued their great start to the season.

Sunday 17th November there will be a level 1 Assistant Officials British Athletics Qualification held at the Swansea University Indoor Athletics Track open to volunteers from all clubs. Athletics is a major sport Nationally and Internationally which besides requiring athletes also needs a large volunteer base as Officials.

Swansea Harriers has been fortunate to be allocated 5 guaranteed places for its club members in the Virgin London Marathon 2014. The awards season is now underway starting last Saturday with the Welsh Athletics annual awards held at Llandridnod Wells Mid Wales. There were a number of individuals who were recognized for the hard work and commitment over the last 12 months or in the case of meritorious awards 15 years! Very many congratulations to the following club members on their very much deserved accolades;
