18.11.11 50th anniversary updates; It is the Clubs 50th anniversary in 2012 we are producing a publication (both electronically and in paper form) to mark the event. We are particularly keen to recruit some of our current young athletes to get involved to give their perspective on life at the Club and, if they wish, with help in the publication. It may be a chance to put something on their CV!
We would also like to hear from former members with their experiences at the Club or merely to include a line to say what part of the world they are in now.

04.09.11 Saturday 3rd September the U13, U15 & U17 junior team competed in their most important team fixture of the season in the UK Auxiliary Final at Birmingham against the 9th to 16th best junior teams in their age groups in the UK. As with David Greene they didn't disappoint raising their game to the occasion, covering as many events as possible whilst putting in many personal best performances. The team just missed out on 3rd place despite having 5 of the teams star U17W unavailable due to representing Wales in the UK School Games in Sheffield. Highlights on the day included Grade 1 performances for Hannah Brier U15G 200m (25.69) & 100m (12.44), Joe Crosby U13B 75mH (12.18), Rhys Harris U13B 75mH (12.76), Michael Wilson U15B 80mH (11.90), Olivia Gwynn U15G 1500m (4.49.90), Caitlin Atkins U15G Pole Vault (2.90m), Stephanie Nicholas U15G Shot (10.01m) & Discus (30.43m), Miles Keller-Jenkins U15B High Jump (1.75m), Ashley Morris U15B Shot (12.45m) and Rhys Davies U13B Shot (9.80m). The club would like to express its thanks and give credit to all the athletes that have represented the team this year, to the team mangers for all their efforts getting out as full teams as possible, all the coaches and the officials from the club that have attended all the fixtures. The final result is perhaps not quite a true reflection of how good a team they really are due to the clash with the UK School Games? Special credit should also be given to the U17M & U17W athletes who despite having just the 1 recognised thrower amongst them were always willing to fill the gaps in the throws all season. Final team scores were Blackheath & Bromley 866, Shaftesbury Barnet 762.5, City of Stoke 718.5, Swansea 699, Liverpool Harriers 607.5, Giffnock North 538, City of Lisburn 516 and Doncaster 490.5.

23.08.11 In addition to Caryl Granville several other club records have been broken this season. Firstly apologies to both Lara Phillipart and Olivia Gwynn who both comfortably broke the old U15G 3000m record set by Jade Winstanley in 1996 (11.30.4), it was missed that their times in the Welsh 3000m Championships 2 weeks ago where Lara Phillipart Gold (10.22.93), Olivia Gwynn Silver (10.39.71) both beat the old record. The full list of new club records in 2011 are:
U15G 200m - Hannah Brier (25.05).
SM 400m - David Greene (45.82).
U15G 3000m - Lara Phillipart (10.22.93).
U13B 75m Hurdles - Joe Crosby (12.08).
SW 400m Hurdles - Caryl Granville (57.61).
U20W 2000m Steeplechase - Katie Reynolds (7.54.71).
SW & U20W Hammer - Toni Wells (53.49m).
SW Long Jump - Imelda Morrisson (5.86m).
With just a handful of fixtures remaining this season will any more club records be broken?
