next-fixture.pngSunday 20th May is the U13, U15 & U15 National Young Athletes League at Abingdon. This is the juniors priority league, should you be selected please make every effort to make yourself available. We can enter 2 athletes in each event.

FREE UK Athletics Level 1 Officials Course

Swansea Harriers has a large team of very dedicated volunteer officials that help the club fulfill its commitments in all its league, cup and championship fixtures on and off track throughout the year. However we really need many more officials to be able to host fixtures and field a team of officials in away fixtures.

Results West Wales Athletics Championships

Sunday 13th May were the West Wales Athletics Championships at Neath and for once it did not rain, however the strong cross winds didn't help anyone except maybe the long and triple jumpers. Very well done to all those who took part some in their first ever competition. There were nearly 300 athletes participating from all clubs in what was a great competition.

On Wednesday 9th May in what were some of the worst possible conditions for athletics the Afan Nedd Tawe Schools Athletics Championships somehow managed to get all the events completed. Despite this there were several records set not including the 100m breast stoke and 200m front crawl. Very many congratulations to the following athletes on setting new all time ANT records:

Results from the Olympic Stadium test events

Tuesday 8th May was the London Disability Athletics Challenge test event in the Olympic Stadium and the club had 2 athletes participating, F13 (visually impaired) U20M long jumper James Ledger had a seasons best performance with a leap of 5.56m and Ashleigh Hellyer F32 (cerebral palsy) shot putter had yet another personal best of 7.1

The U13, U15 & U17 National Young Athletes League team got their season off to the perfect start with a victory in the Midland Premier South Division, in a very exciting and competitive day now that all 6 teams compete together. As ever all the athletes did a fantastic job covering most of the disciplines and with several athletes unavailable there is the potential to build on this success for the remaining 2 league fixtures.

Whitford Point Multi Terrain Race

Each year the club organizes a unique scenic and challenging off track 5.9 miles multi terrain race at Whitford Point on the Gower Peninsula consisting of road, beach and forest trails.
