Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from, Exeter, Swansea, Nashville USA, Manchester, Gloucester, Cardiff & Oxford.
Tuesday 29th April was the British Milers Club Regional Races in Exeter where SM Edward Davies ran a personal best of 4.01.21 for 1500m and U20M Joshua Sanders a 4.25.10 for 1500m, well done both!
Thursday 1st May was the Afan Nedd Tawe Schools & Colleges U15, U17 & U20 Championships at Swansea, with several hundred pupils in action from almost 20 secondary schools, there were plenty of Swansea Harriers amongst them. Highlights included wins and all time championship records for:
U15B Ioan Jones 26.91m Hammer, Ren Leech-Griffiths 2.10m Pole Vault and Jack Griffiths 2.13.8 800m.
U15G Freya Birt 12.5 75m Hurdles & 2.60m Pole Vault & 9.24m Triple Jump, Somtochi Emenogu 13.1 100m & 8.93m Shot, Katriel Udoh 27.1 200m & 1.60m High jump which equalled the record! Lyla Jonsson 5.00.4 1500m, Darcy Gibbon 2.33.3 800m, Grace Beard 14.94m Discus and Rutendo Chasweka 4.81m Long Jump.
U17M Ruari Harris 11.3 100m, Henry Payne 56.1 400m, Jack Sullivan 4.59.0 1500m Steeplechase, Matthew Hines 15.7 100m Hurdles & 57.5 400m Hurdles which was a new record! Mandikuzda Mupita 11.66m Triple Jump, Oliver Sampson 22.92m Hammer and Tyler Davies 3.20m Pole Vault, Elias Khassouani 23.31m Discus & 35.10m Javelin.
U17W Ruby Mills 43.7 300m & 48.6 300m Hurdles, Tabitha Ventress-Brett 12.9 80m Hurdles & 24.06m Discus, Holly Humphreys 10.50.8 3000m, Hannah Jones 2.39.5 800m, Libby Hale 4.58.0 1500m, Millie Pierce 5.27.8 1500m Steeplechase and a new all time championship record! Gwenllian Jones 4.75m Long Jump, Alice Prosser 26.47m Javelin, Lily Jayne Mitchell 9.48m Triple Jump and Lauren Oshisanya 9.70m Shot.
U20M Jenson Morris 11.2 100m & 21.9 200m which equalled the championship record! Ben Fenwick 41.94m Hammer and Charlie Shuall 4.40m Pole Vault which was a new championship record!
U20W Matilda Quick set 3 new Championship records in the 100m Hurdles 14.7, long Jump 5.46m & High Jump 1.67m!!! Efa Williams 8.71m Triple Jump, 21.40m Hammer & 22.99m Discus.

Friday 2nd May at Nashville USA Sophia Harrison runs a 2.26.41 for 800m and a 17.53.62 for 5000m, 2 personal bests in two days, well done Sophia!
Saturday 3rd to Monday 5th May were the British Universities Championships held at a windy Manchester.
In the Men Sam Davies had a great event to win BRONZE in the High Jump with a best of 2.04m, William Hawker ran 11.05 for his 100m heat, Marek Warzocha made it to the 200m semi final recording a 11.22 and 22.81 in the 200m semi final, Eniloa Adeotun recorded 11.02 in the 100m semi final, Youssef Rabhi ran 54.89 in the 400m heats, Ryan Price had a best of 11.89m in the Triple Jump.
In the Women Lucy Harris made the discus final with a best of 39.51m, Darcie Bass made the 800m semi final after her PB in the heat of 2.12.98, Bronwen Stratton-Thomas ran a 4.51.93 in the 1500m heats, Rebekah Pratt had a busy weekend in 5 events where she cleared 2.51m in the Pole Vault & jumped 3.83m in the Long Jump & threw 8.60m in the Shot & a 26.36m in the Javelin & 35.53m in the Hammer, Luisa von Schnitzler had a best of 9.72m in the Triple Jump pool, Gwennan Lewis was 12th in the Shot final, here best throw came in the qualifying pool of 10.86m.
Saturday 3rd May our U13 & U15 team got their league campaign underway in round of 3 of the Youth Development League at Gloucester, with a last place finish putting them at the bottom of the league table, its vital more boys come forward to support the club in the remaining two fixtures to avoid relegation. However those present gave it their all trying to cover as many events as possible. Individual highlights included A string wins for U15B Roman Jackson 45.69m and U13G Poppy Brannigan 2.40.80. Sunday 4th May were the Welsh 5km Road Race Championships held at Cardiff, incorporating the Welsh 5km Championships. We had a great turnout of over 20 finishers, our top 5 Men & Women home were: Men: having a superb run for 2nd was M35 Jonathan Butler in 14.21, followed home by 40th M35 Matthew Rees 15.12, 43rd Matthew Verran 15.14, 114th U15B Oliver Cobbold 16.15 and 132nd M35 Craig Jones 16.30. Women: first home for the club was 25th U17W Holly Humphreys in 17.27, followed by 36th U20W Hollie Lewis 18.08, 46th Maria Kowal 18.45, 47th U15G Lyla Jonsson 18.43 and 61st Iona Evans 18.57. Monday 5th May at Oxford were the Bannister Mile Races where Swansea Harriers had two athletes running where they got two times in one race, at 1500m and a mile (1609m) U20W Millie Gold recorded a 4.36.62/4.56.64 and U13B Tomi Jones a 4.52.89/5.1.42, well done both!
